Erol Bulut:

“Both Etete and Grant had cramps," he explained. "If you get cramps it can get a bit strange. That's why it changed. We were not planning on these changes. But we don't want injuries. We've had enough injuries this season so I don't want to see anything like this again."

The Worzels are not up to much these days. No reason why we can't come away with a result if we turn up.

They took Southamptons 3 months undefeated streak recently. They are no mugs, specifically at home. Play some decent football, also.

I'd take a point.

Ok, what makes you state that Bristol "aren't up to much nowadays"?

Southampton have 50% more points than us and Bristol. We didn't lay a glove on them recently, Bristol destroyed them.

Bristol didn’t exactly destroy them.

They had four shots on target and scored with three of them. Southampton had two thirds of the ball, the same shots on target but only scored one.

You also say our game against Southampton was recently when it was nearly three months ago.

Bristol have played two relegation candidates in their last two, QPR and Sheffield Wednesday - they lost to both of them.

I also think we should be capable of winning this game as long as we turn up.

Where to go from here? - Bristol City -

If the loss to QPR deflated any feelings of optimism post-Southampton around play-offs, then this has left the balloon lying limp, misshapen and a little sad on the floor.

We may as well come out and say it, as irrelevant as it seems, but the gap to the top six is 11 points and seven goals, and if you're into this sort of thing, City are currently priced at 40/1 by bookmakers. You’d be hard-pressed to argue the concept of value in the market after that 90 minutes.

But, really, that's probably a conversation for a different day because Cardiff City now becomes increasingly crucial, far beyond the rivalry.

There is clearly an undercurrent of anger by certain sections of supporters towards Manning but, more profoundly and by extension, the board around what's transpired over the last week, which sounds ridiculous given the briefness of the timeline, but is more centred around a run which has seen City accrue nine points from 10 games.

Hopefully the win over Stoke will give a bit of confidence and if Grant plays the same as he did then we will have plenty of chances.

Former Bristol City winger in line for Ashton Gate return after six-month injury layoff
Ashton Gate will welcome back one of their former players when the Severnside Derby takes place.

Former Bristol City winger Callum O'Dowda is closing in on a return to action for Cardiff City and could play at Ashton Gate this weekend.

The 27-time Republic of Ireland international has spent half-a-year on the sidelines with various injuries. He has not played since the end of August but could now feature against his former club that he departed in the summer of 2022.

O'Dowda underwent groin surgery in September and was initially sidelined until the New Year but suffered a setback and has missed a further two months. O'Dowda is back in training and it is hoped by the Bluebirds boss Erol Bulut that he can get some pitch time before the international break.

The 28-year-old has been limited to 44 appearances in a season and three quarters. He played four games this term before suffering his injury. O'Dowda did grace the Ashton Gate surface back when the two sides met in August 2022, and he ended up being on the losing side that day following a 2-0 win for the Robins. He played in the corresponding fixture then in March in which Cardiff won 2-0.

O'Dowda spent six seasons as a Bristol City player and made a total of 176 appearances with 16 goals and 10 assists. He is one of several players that has crossed the Severn Bridge from England to Wales.

Another former Bristol City player has been missing for Cardiff for a considerable period too. Callum Robinson was a one-time loanee for City in the 2015/16 season and played a total of seven games, scoring one goal which came in an FA Cup defeat to Luton Town. He has been out since early January but isn't expected to play a part this weekend.

We give them up to 3,500 tickets.

There should be none of this you give the percentage of your ground you cannot select which teams you give more or less to unless there is not the take up from away teams

Why are our club not complaining to the Efl they have always given us a load of grief over the years
Snowgate derby,
raingate rotherham ,
Not giving us an extension in the transfer window during the sala affair as we where at a disavantage then dealing with coast gaurd police immidiate family etc instead of the transfer window
So its about time we asked for something from EFL
an explanation would be a start?.

Cardiff City hope to have Callum O’Dowda in their matchday squad for Saturday’s Severnside Derby with the former Bristol City winger having been out of action for six months.

O’Dowda is in his second season as a Bluebird, after joining them from the Robins in the summer of 2022, but has made just four appearances under Erol Bulut, the last of which was on August 26 against Sheffield Wednesday.

The Republic of Ireland international underwent groin surgery and then suffered two setbacks in his recovery but Wales Online have reported that there is optimism the 28-year-old could make the bench for this weekend’s trip along the M4.

O’Dowda played 176 games for City from 2016-2022, scoring 10 goals, but his time in the West Country was also marked by a serious of injury issues. If he is given the green light to play, this will be his second visit to Ashton Gate in Cardiff colours having played 90 minutes in the 2-0 defeat in August, 2022.

Former Bristol City player among the Bluebirds ranks is Famara Diedhiou and is set to appear in BS3 for the first time since he left the club in summer 2021 and in the 3 years since the former Bristol City Striker left, Diedhiou has scored 11 goals .

The 31 year old Senegalese striker joined Cardiff on loan from La Liga side Granada after failing to score in the 2 years there.
Since joining the Bluebirds he has struggled to make an impact over his six appearances. Diedhiou is yet to find the target and gas mustered just two shots from 185 minutes of action, mainly as a substitute.

Robinson has been out since the first week of January.

OPPOSITION FOCUS | IN THE DUGOUT -

Bristol City’s manager is Liam Manning, who was appointed in November 2023.

Having began his managerial career with West Ham United’s U23s side, the 38-year-old then spent a time in Belgium with Lommel S.K.

In August 2021, Manning joined League One club MK Dons and made an immediate impact.

At the end of his first season, he led the club to a third-place finish, only to lose out to Wycombe Wanderers in the Play-Off Semi-Final.

Manning has also had a spell at Oxford United, where he won 14 of his 29 matches in charge, earning a move to the Championship with the Robins.

Since taking over at Ashton Gate, the side have won seven, drawn eight and lost eight of his 23 matches at the helm, with a win percentage of 30.43%.
