Should the shop keep its union flag?

Tue Mar 19, 2024 7:37 am

In Spain, France and Italy plus USA they fly their Flags with Pride everywhere.

Forget that it’s the Union Jack to some, say it was the Welsh Flag in Wales or the St.George Flag in England , why do some local authorities say it’s offensive???

Reading a little more into this story. The council have requested for it to be painted over as it's deemed as unauthorised advertisement. Nothing to do with it being a flag.

Lots of media outlets trying to make it sound anti-patriotic, but it's just a case of him not being allowed to extend his advertising onto that wall

Firstly only a union jack if on a boat So it is the union flag otherwise. ( always a bugbear of mine so apologise if that comes across in wrong way ) The world is crazy if someone on the UK can’t fly any flag of the home nations in their own country.
Too many people are easily offended it is not as if they are flying the nazi flag.
I do understand that flying it some other countries maybe offensive when you consider what we have done is some foreign lands but not in the UK

No one, if the article is read properly...

The guy in the picture certainly doesn't look 'offended' either...

Interesting that Spain, France and Italy had empires and colonised lots of countries, yet still manage to respect their own flags.
