MANAGER - BUDGET- THE REAL QUESTION !! : The Bulut in or out issue lingers on , and as of today , we do not know the outcome .
My personal feeling is that he will be staying, a Very Strong feeling - but on Tan’s terms .
No one came in for Bulut.
However , the main and really important issue is not who our manager is , but rather WHAT IS OUR PLAYERS’ BUDGET ??!!!
Whoever the manager is …how much money will be made available to buy players and what is the salaries budget ….is the critical question. Yes , the manager is important ….but the BUDGET is more important. The best manager in the world will not succeed without a competitive budget (as a general rule).
My personal take is that Tan’s budget allowance will be quite limited, in fact very limited !
My reasoning is that Tan has thrown away and wasted beyond,so much money on us (I believe more than £250 million in shares , loans , sponsorship and write-offs) that he is now unable and unwilling to continue throwing good money after bad . He will only cover the inevitable yearly losses that all Chsmpionship clubs face (unless they sell players). In short he will only stop at the level of avoiding administration , but no more.
To be fair to Tan he has in the past backed not only his own football judgement (which is his big big downfall) , but significantly he backed few managers with massive amounts of money ….only to burn his fingers badly. Crazy wages were paid , insane money paid to buy players . Court cases that millions upon millions have been badly wasted.
Tan therefore feels he has been let down badly and consistently by all the managers ….so ‘never again’. He will not put his trust in anyone .
In conclusion , I believe that whoever our manager is - the budget will be quite limited ….so we should not expect much .
Our real real problem is that Tan has lost the only useful thing he had going for him ….MONEY !
