Ryotaro Tsunoda

Aged 25 Signed for Cardiff City went straight out on loan and played only 9 games ( some as a sub) in 5 months for Vincent Tans Club KV Kortrijk

An unknown quantity for supporters in this corner of the world, really, but a decision will have to be made by the Hierarchy over what to do with their Japanese defender this summer.

He signed from Yokohama F Marinos in January before being loaned out immediately to Vincent Tans club KV Kortrijk, where his ball-playing ability particularly stood out — but after just nine games he suffered a hamstring injury which has required surgery.

Depending on how long the rehab is, he could even be injured for the entire window. But if not, the manager or Hierarchy manager will have to assess how much of a part he will play and whether he is better off out on loan once again.

I'd like to see him given a chance. Reports have been positive and we are due a break on incoming purchases (as opposed to loans) :ayatollah:

I'd like to see what he's about, but my concern is he's only actually played 45 games of professional football, and at 25 that's a bit alarming, especially when they have been at significantly worse levels.

I'll give him a chance as always though!

I might be wrong but I don't think he qualifies for a work permit. And will probably spend another year or 2 at that side to gain a European work permit which will probably mean he has enough points to be accepted to play in the UK

He will be able to get a work permit as he's played at least 5 domestic matches in a Band 1-5 league. Belgium band 2 and Japan band 5
