Vincent Kompany faces fight to bring Craig Bellamy to Bayern Munich with Burnley set to make offerPhil Spencer and Alex CrookCraig Bellamy is at the centre of a tug-of-war between Burnley and Bayern Munich-bound Vincent Kompany.
Burnley boss Kompany is in advanced talks with the German giants over becoming their new head coach.
Kompany has agreed personal terms over his move to Bavaria with just the finer details to be ironed out.
One of those issues is the backroom team that the Man City legend will take with him - with Bellamy being a crucial piece of the jigsaw.
The former Newcastle, Liverpool and Man City forward has been Kompany's no.2 at Turf Moor since he was appointed two years ago and is wanted by Kompany to fulfil the same role in the Bundesliga.
However Bellamy is reportedly being considered as Kompany's replacement by Burnley, a move that would see him step up to become a head coach for the first time.

Difficult decision for him! Go to bayern if fail that wouldl hit both their standings.. stY at Burnley and fail same scenario... he has the ability to be a very good coach so good luck to him whatever he decides.

I agree, Allan. My only thoughts beyond that is Craig has previously stated he doesn't want to be a manager and is loyal to his friend, Vincent Kompany
For me, 100% Bayern with Kompany but as we already know, Craig is his own man and will decide for himself, if the opportunities arise

I always thought he would be better served as a no2 but eventually he will want to be no1 but not yet... dyche was a no2 at Watford for years took no1 job and been fairly successful at it but not all make the transition and revert back to a no2..
Maybe one day a no1 at city?

With his age dont think it will do him any harm going to Bayern

We should be in that tug of war.
Bring him home

He should go to bayern

I would stay with Vinny. He has the force shield of a Marvel character, almost impervious to media criticism. He has been sprinkled with the Pep aura, blessed with Achilles-like invulnerability of damage.
If Dyche had had Burnley's points he'd be well gone.

EXCLUSIVE - Craig Bellamy will NOT follow Vincent Kompany to Bayern Munich, with manager's Burnley No 2 parting ways with relegated boss after he agreed a deal to replace Thomas Tuchel

Craig Bellamy will not join Vincent Kompany at Bayern Munich, with the Burnley boss set to be named the Bundesliga giants' new manager.
Kompany is due to move to the Bundesliga giants despite the 38-year-old overseeing Burnley's relegation from the Premier League, winning just five games all season.
The ex-Wales international has served as Kompany's assistant for five years, joining his former Man City team-mate at Anderlecht and following him to Burnley.
Together the pair helped mastermind a hugely impressive Championship campaign in 2022-23 with Burnley returning to the top-flight as champions with 101 points, although their inexperienced young squad came unstuck this term.
Mail Sport can exclusively reveal however that Bellamy will not be joining Bayern, where Kompany is set to take charge.

If my memory serves me right, Craig came back from Anderlecht to be back in the UK for his kids. Bayern Munich are a huge draw for anyone, but family comes first for many people.

Yes he did say that but couple years later as situation changed for him? Bayern to good to turn down for both of them .

Great feedback for him, fair play.
Burnley is one of the biggest jobs outside of the top flight so stepping in there as manager is a major career jump
BUT
Being #2 for Bayern Munich isn't going to pop up every 5 minutes is it?

He is a class act and would be a big asset to Kompany he's already proved that I hope he takes the move to Bayern, learns more, rather than the pressure cooker of Managing a team in the Championship, and gets a bit more experience in first.
What a good position to be in, two great opportunities.
