A forum for all things Cardiff City

It is no longer a working man's game, it is no longer that the club listens to its fans, it it no longer where the players play for the badge.
Football is now a way for the rich to show their worth. For players to make a shed load of money with no actual love for the club that pays them.
Its now about wealth, status and politics.
Its bollocks. This no longer feels like the club I have supported all of my life.

I disagree, football is still all those things, just at the lower level sadly, can see in 10 years, league two and league one sides getting bigger crowds than Championship sides

There is still a bit of that there and its very luke warm.
We sold Ramsey to Arsenal at the age of 17. A generation before he would have stays and made himself part of the furniture. Yes the injection of money has changed things.
The only constant over the generations are the fans and sadly that has been under threat due to the rise in gate prices. I read somewhere that the average age of the fan is in the40s where not long ago it was mid twenties.

Sport isn’t what it is, money talks. Look at the horrific atmosphere in Saudi compared to the one last night.
Money rules the world and everything in it sadly.

Football is brilliant, it's still the best game in the world. You are talking about professional football, it has always been about the money.
£15 a game isn't bad. I leave jobs for better pay, so why wouldn't a professional sportsman?
The problem is at the very top of the game. The premier league has too much money and clout. They hoard players which is no good for their development and stops a lot of the recirculation of money.
If I could change one rule it would be the loan rule. I would only allow any Club five outbound loans. This would make clubs make up their mind quicker about players and they'd have to play, sell, or release well-coached kids. So a Wilson Esbrand would end up at Crewe on a free or Cardiff for a small fee and then make his career. If he turns out to be decent a moneybags club will come in for him and pay a transfer fee and the money funnels through.
It would also make kids think twice about jumping ship at schoolboy age to enter one of the elite football factories.

Are you serious?. You obviously don't remember football in the 80s/90s when hardly anybody bothered going? . Cardiff v Middlesbrough 1985 the old second division attendance 2500.the return at ayresome park crowd 4000. That's how it was all over the country right through the 80s)90s football was on its arse.
