“ Cardiff City want spending restrictions to be eased “

Wed Jun 05, 2024 9:43 pm

Championship clubs are “locked in battle” over proposed new spending rules.

Leeds, Hull, Stoke, West Brom, Swansea and Cardiff are calling for restrictions on spending to be eased with a number of clubs close to breaching the rules.

Even with spending restrictions lifted I can't see the club spending a whole lot,I wish we would as we really need some quality players in the squad to push for top 6.

I now look at the squad and don't see any match winners no more, this summer is massive for us and I truly hope we bring in some top players

Everybody saod in jan transfer not worth spending big wait till the new summer season for the rebuild
Its upon us but i get the feeling it will be the same like every season budget buys can you honestly see tan forking out 10 million on players there was a time we spent 5 mill on gary madine 1 player it will be loans to replace the loans we lost we may very well get 6 loans but we have lost bowler philips grant so there is 3 already so adding another 3 is not going to do much
Tan is notgoing to sprnf big to get us back to the prem he will exspect bulut to do it on a budget like warnock did in our push for promotion
Can we compete with leeds burnley etc we cannot even compete with hull luton.
So more of the same but we live in hope.

The one thing cannot do in championship is not invest in decent players or try and economise to an extent that weakens the squad as we've seen it only ends up with relegation or relegation fight!
Keeping Bulut is not a sighn of economising to the extent of weakening last seasons squad.... so optimism should be stronger given our finishing position..... what kept us at 12th was fact didn't draw enough games if held out in more games be even higher at end..

I would be worried about relaxing the FFP tbh.

I don't see us spending anywhere near what some clubs can, and as a result I think it will see the gap between the top of the championship and the bottom of the championship grow even bigger.

Think it is only a temporary fix for this season otherwise could find many clubs failing ffp in efl if this dispute goes on past start season!
already got premier league clubs outside top 6 complaining about giving efl a share of their money ... also if efl doesn't get this money how can clubs budget properly? This as been rumbling for several seasons now particularly the parachute payments and needs sorting
Now or there will be one hell of a mess in efl. This is about increasing income now rather than how much clubs spend on players
