As a young wanabee schooligan I remember a gang of us from Barry going into Cardiff General - as it was called then- at around 11 o clock to meet the Leeds fans. We got chased down Tudor Road by Leeds. They were grown men, we were little boys in comparison. In the game itself my mate got clubbed over the head with what seemed to be a baseball bat and another friend got arrested, frog marched around the pitch and taken down the tunnel as they used to do in those days. They just kicked him out fortunately as he later joined the police force and would often be on the trains to away matches in his official capacity!
