Personally, I keep on changing my mind between France and England.
I’ll say England. I think Foden could be the star of the tournament and they also have very good options from the bench such as Bowen, who is underrated.
But you can’t rule out France, mainly because of the Mbappe factor.
I expect Germany and Spain also to have good tournaments.
Scotland will be happy if they get out of their group.

I wouldn’t mind if England won it; but I’ve voted for Portugal and an international trophy for old Ronaldo

Haven't Ronaldo already won this trophy with Portugal in 2016?
Portugal is a good shout Sven, excellent football nation.

I can't see anyone coping with England if they turn it on. IF they turn it on is the big variable.
Who do we think has the best defence, as that's usually there or there abouts. It's not England... (kind of contradicting myself here, aren't I?)

Yes you are ! Iceland could have scored 3 or 4 against them so can you imagine what a Mbappe-inspired France will do.
Bellingham will improve their midfield but defensively they're an accident waiting to happen.

I think France are lacking creativity to win it, unless Griesman is still available.

I never judge club or international friendlies, they are only about team spirit and fitness.
Going by your comments, I think you’ll be surprised by England.

Don't get me wrong, England on form are a match for anyone. But defensively I've never seen them so disorganised. At this late stage I don't think Southgate has a clue what his best defensive line-up is. With Mings and Maguire unavailable, who is going to partner Stones ?Lewis Dunk ?!! Walker and A-Arnold great going forward but not reliable defenders. Luke Shaw is coming back from injury and Trippier has not had the best of seasons.
They had better hope their midfield and forwards function well enough to make up for their glaring weaknesses at the back.

Those are good points made, although I would say Walker is decent defensively.
I was more pointing out that friendlies don’t reveal much.
I was surprised they didn’t take Branthwaite. He had a brilliant season with Everton.

France or Spain I would have thought, England have great attacking players but weak keepers, defence and a poor Manager, plus they bottle it.
Tue Jun 11, 2024 8:42 am
Belgium
Outsider: Austria

Italy. The last match I watched with my Dad (a proud Scotsman) was Italy beating England on penalties four years ago. In his memory, I would like to see history repeat itself.

Unfortunately I think Ingerland will finally win it. I agree they are a bit iffy in defence as pointed out above but they will destroy most teams going forward and that should do it for them.

If you voted FOR Brexit for any reason out of the very many there were, Here is an ex BBC lefty , who is very close to people in the Labour party, Giving an Honest (as he see's it) account of what Labour will really do if they win a large majority.
Most of us who Voted FOR Brexit and are in the Centre or Centre Right of British Voters or even if you are not and voted Brexit, This little video should give you a clue as to what Labour (say one thing and then do another under pressure from the left), really intend to do ?
I admit that, as everyone can feel and see the Conservatives have messed up BIG time but sometimes "Better the devil you know".
