Have fallen asleep at some ungodly hour sat in the alley ,with my face in my chicken curry off the bone and chips . Many times. I want one right now!!!!!! I can taste it!!!

And that brings up another question chip ally,chippie lane…………..

Late 70s for me after a night out.

I remember the place for a lad that kept the servery top up. What a character and spoke to everyone in the queue. He made a good ending to a good night and I've not seen his character repeated again in any chip shop.

When I was a young lad growing up in Llanrumney, me and mates used to catch the number 47 or 48 bus into Dumfries place and walk down past queen street train station, down the alleyway to Guildford crescent baths ( lovely Victorian pools X 3 , male, female and mixed). Or sometimes bus all the way to central station to the Empire pool ( never daring to go near top diving board!).
Always walked to Caroline street for rissole and chips to walk back to the bus.
Tried the rissoles again a few years ago (50 years later) not the same but is anything the same these days ?
Great memories of a wonderful childhood

I've spent way too much money in there trying to soak up the alcohol over the years
