The EFL have rejected the request.

Why?
The NFL does it with their London games & the odd game in Mexico yet that is still around so why would this mean football would die? This Brum request is just silly & for publicity on their side, it also smacks of jealousy because Wrexham have one American owner & another from Canada who actually give a fk about the team & want to push them forward not backwards.
It can only be good for football to have a Premier league game or two in the USA to see how it goes & hurts nobody.

Perhaps I worded it incorrectly. Football wouldnt DIE
Youre right, it would give the EFL and or Premier League more publicity and money and give fans in the US (or wherever they decide to play) an opportunity to see live games
BUT
It would show that the game now is not about fans at all. Now more than ever its about money.
Some loyal fans have gone to every home and away, have had to change trips or plans due to last minute TV changes or time changes so Sky can get more money, who spend thousands travelling up and down the country each season and put up with a lot of disruption already.
How are the residents of Birmingham (in this case) supposed to go and watch their apparent home game if its held in the States? Hard working people are already getting priced out of stadiums without having to travel to a different country altogether for a league game.
Each to their own obviously and you're entitled to think its a good idea but its not for me
