Striker James Crole aged 20 has permanently joined Welsh league club Penybont.

Penybont welcomed striker James Crole on a permanent move to bolster their strikers.

Good luck James

Cardiff City player James Crole will be knocking on the first team door next season.

James Crole went on loan from Cardiff City to Queen’s Park FC, who play in the Scottish Championship, at the end of January.

The striker made his debut for the Scottish team against Inverness Caledonian Thistle in February but has mainly featured for their B side since.

The loan has been more successful than his loan to Torquay United last season, which was cut short following an ankle injury.

In September, he made a 60th-minute substitute appearance for Cardiff in their Carabao Cup tie against Blackburn Rovers. Crole, who also represents Wales at Under-19s level, has been a prolific scorer for the Bluebirds' age-grade sides in recent years, but now must make that step up to the first team and start playing regular senior football.

Don't understand why some of these lads can't go on loan to Newport than play Welsh League football .

Because when they do this board goes into meltdown saying that our kids aren't good enough. The club can't win really.

I agree Tony,

Newport, Bristol Rovers, Swindon , Exeter etc

I personally had high hopes for James Crole, sending him all the way to Scotland to a second division club out the way does not help.
Quality up there is appalling

99% sure we released him last month, no english sides appear to have come in for him. its easy to say he should be going on loan to league two etc, but these teams want experienced players. I seen someone say why didn't Newport come in for a loan, Newport had a loan of youngsters off us when Rowberry was announced, i'm sure they've all been released from there as they were deemed good enough.

our big issue though regarding loans is, our loans are classed as international loans, so we can send a player out for 3 months, here and there, its a minimum of a 6 month loan. alot of teams in league two sometimes only want a youngster on loan to fill sub bench spots without the worry of the wage. and alot of clubs don't want to waste a loan space on someone with no real experience, so we are left with the only option available, Welsh League and lower end Scottish leagues.

Evans was told he was not getting a new contract.
No one came on for him, he will probably be on an U21 contract / wage , peanuts

What a waste of talent. Why on earth has he joined a team playing at the the equivalent of level 8 in the English pyramid when he could easily play at National league level or even league 2.
