Social media suggests we've received a bid for McGuiness?

I hope not, he's done well for us and will be in my opinion a big player this season

Yes it’s true The Board have received a bid for Mark Mcguiness and are thinking about it.

If we have ambition we should keep him as we need Quality players.

We are already selling Ebou Adams which I agree on.

Looks like more money coming in.

No excuses then not to Sign 2 Quality Strikers

Unless McGuiness goes as we’re getting in someone better Annis.

All well and good that Chambers has signed, but what teams who go up have, is depth.

We need to keep him, there will be injuries, players needing to be rested etc. We need the depth in the squad.

Hes also only 23 and will get even better than he has already been for us.

Annis, how much has been bid?

I agree that we need 3 quality centre backs but maybe there’s another one coming in.

Apparently it’s about £5m but the club are pushing for more.

If we can get £6m I’d say that we should take it.

We must then reinvest the money into the squad, especially for a striker.

I’d take 5-6 million but wed also need another centre back.

I will be happy if we get money in for McGuiness and then go for Phillips

Ned, if we got 6 or 7m and used 5m of it for a striker, with the other 1m being used to bring in another CB then I'd be happy with that.

The cynic in me thinks that if we get 5m for him, we won't see it being used to bring in new players.

He's a good player but not irreplaceable.
If the money is used to buy a couple of strikers I'd sale :bluebird: :bluebird:

There will be several comings and goings some we like others we won't!
unfortunately that's football qpr appalled willock left there...n the proof of policy will be who comes in no point in bringing in quality only to weaken squad .... sell for 5/6m see what board do with money.

Agree mate. So long as everyone realises that the money may go on signing on fees and wages rather than a transfer fee. :bluescarf:

Not for me. I don't really rate Phillips as much as many do, and McGuiness is probably one of the few players in our squad who could play at a higher level..

He’s 23 and has 3 years left on his deal. Personally would love to see him stay as I think he’s got a lot more to offer us and I feel we could get more for him in a years time

I wouldn’t be disappointed either way depending on the fee and how we use it. You are right but it’s always a gamble. He could get injured and next season be valued at £1m.

Re: Bid received for McGuiness?

I have always believed we would likely get concrete bids for McGuiness over NG just on age profile.

23-year-old old school center-half over a 28 year old hybrid right back/ center half.

I think we had Sean Morrison around 23 years old and IMO he was more accomplished at that age but also massively improved as they do in that position at that age and that is why we'd get a bid.

I believe unless it is silly money £7 mill plus he stays.

Re: Bid received for McGuiness?

I’d be biting hands off at about £3m as I don’t think he has the concentration or composure to succeed at a high level.

Credit to the club if they think they can hold out for more.

I'd be sad to see him sold. Our future captain in my opinion and I hope he stays.

I'm sure I read Arsenal have a sizeable sell on clause so that will reduce what we ll get

I agree a team with depth goes up

I dint know

If it’s a PL team and he wants to go we can’t stand in his way

Re: Bid received for McGuiness?

At £5m that's good business. Not sure he has enough pace for the Premier League. As long as the money is reinvested into the team, £5m is a good deal.

Re: Bid received for McGuiness?

Without a shadow of doubt - KEEP. He’s only 23, a decent player and we need at least 3 centre backs due to possible injuries, suspensions, tiredness etc. also competition for places is vital for success as it keeps everyone on their toes.

Sell him and buy Nat!

Nat, Goutas and Chambers back three sounds good!

If it means bringing strikers in then let him go if the money is big .

The kind of money were talking about means whoever it is he starts for. At this club it's not a given and he may think it's better to go somewhere that plays him as the no 1 C/H

The Bluebirds will likely offload Andy Rinamohta and Ryan Wintle too, if terms are acceptable.
