CARDIFF FIGHT BACK: Hertha BSC v Cardiff City

Wed Jul 24, 2024 9:02 am

League 2 Budasliga Hertha Berlin Split their first team squad to play two games one after another on the same day:

Cardiff fielded a very strong team:

Cardiff deservedly went in h/t one nil down and looked toothless upfront.

Second-half Cardiff played a lot better and Callum Robinson in the 89th min made it 1-1

City badly missing striker and need to strengthen more.

FIRST- HALF:

Ramsey and Ralls looked good

Cardiff defended well against the League 2 Bundesliga, but upfront were toothless first-half.

Hertha were by far the better team.

Bulut this season is giving Isaak Davies the main Strikers position.
Good luck

That’s a team much closer to our best team compared to the other day.

Good to see Chambers and Willock on the bench, hope they get some minutes in the second half.

I agree Ned,

Apparently Davies will be one of our main Strikers this season, I really hope for our sakes he can do it in the Championship.
The good news is I am told he is very very confident.

Chambers willock will be on around 60mins "bulut " davies will benefit from more forward thinking play as he is face the goal player not back to goal type we usually play.

Good defending

Hertha just starting to settle.

Maza pulls the ball back across the box, but Cardiff get it clear.

The League 2 German side are all over Cardiff

Hertha on top at the moment

The press from the German side really unsettling Cardiff in possession at the moment.

City really having to work hard even get out their own half at the moment

A lively disagreement now

Ng and McGuinness having strong words with Scherhant off the ball.

No idea what that's about but there's a fair but of pushing and shoving going on.

Maza comes across to break it up and that appears to be the end of it for now.

Re: CCFC TEAM NAMED: Hertha BSC v Cardiff City

Thu Jul 25, 2024 4:32 pm

It’s all Hertha

McGuinness again

Another strong header to clear another Winkler cross.

Re: CCFC TEAM NAMED: Hertha BSC v Cardiff City

Thu Jul 25, 2024 4:38 pm

Cardiff defending well / nothing up front

Collins hooks clear

Scherhant glides his way through down the left before getting a cross away.

Collins there inside the box to hook the ball away.

Thu Jul 25, 2024 4:41 pm

Ramsey again looking lively

Sprays out to the left for O'Dowda, and he does brilliantly to get the better of his man, gets the cross away but there's too much fizz on it.

Hertha look a good team.

City good on the counter and defending well.

Isaak Davies clearly struggles with hold up play and needs to improve the accuracy of his passes.

Ned,

I agree, but Buluts really depending on him this season. Tan has made it clear Isaaks is his in his top 2 strikers.

Isaak Davies is down

Looks in a bit of pain after a coming together in the centre circle.

Robinson is ready to come

Re: CCFC TEAM NAMED: Hertha BSC v Cardiff City

Thu Jul 25, 2024 5:18 pm

I’ll say it yet again Annis. I like Davies and want him to succeed. But he’s not a forward. He’s too small. He’s a winger. He will not survive up front in the championship on his own against big centre backs. If Tan thinks otherwise he’s deluded. And it’s the MANAGER alone who should be making these decisions. Why ux T Meite on the bench? Wasn’t there got the previous game. Surely not injured already.
