A forum for all things Cardiff City

The season starts in just under two weeks.
Normally by this point, I find myself being excited for the new season - regardless of the quality of our team.
I don’t know if it’s because it’s felt like a shorter summer break because of an entertaining Euros and the Olympics just starting, but it doesn’t really feel like the season is just around the corner.
I’m sure I’ll feel different when I’m stood in Canton Stand at 12.25pm on 10th August

I'm always excited for the new season.
L2 or prem, doesn't matter. Its city.

Very excited. Think we’ll do well.
Sun Jul 28, 2024 7:31 pm
yes
think it will be alot better than last season hopefully challenging for a top 6 finish but think some of the other teams will have a bit more quality
might do a few more aways this season too

Optimistically thinking autos is a possibility. Would settle for the playoffs. This season has a different feeling to recent ones. stability in keeping Bulut also.
Keeping Ramsey fit is crucial this season. Alongside a few more players to come in before the window shuts.

I am excited, yes. I'm never not. If you're not, then what's the point?
There's always a few mini-stories in my head. This season..
- Bulut/a manager having a full pre-season. What will this look like?
- Ramsey. Will he/won't he stay fit?
- The new boys. Will the improve us or not?
This is the most settled the club has been for a long while. I hope that translates to the pitch for some better and consistent performances.

I feel we will have a more consistent side this season.
We have a few players this season that have completed a season with us and are worth another season, Goutas, Siopis to name 2 of them. Those loanees that have returned to their parent clubs are no great loss except Grant. Those that are coming in are better than those we are replacing. So overall we are looking better, just need that striker.

No not with the current squad. Finger's crossed for two strikers, a winger & a box to box midfielder. Now, that would excite me lol!

Always excited for new season. Will be in Turkey for our opening game. Hopefully we can watch it out there. And get cheering.
Optimistic, currently no. I am not a fan of Buluts tactic. If he persists with it again, and all the pre season signs are that he will, then I just dont see an improvement on last seasons exaggerated league position. I don’t know any of the new signings so judgement reserved until I see 8 or 9 games with them. This top 6 talk is making me cringe tbh. What would be a successful season to me is a mid table top 10 finish with the manager showing fans he has adapted better to our league, with better game management, adaptability to change formation and offer alternatives to his one side to side slow build inverted winger tactic and execute them well. We were a one trick predictable pony last year, and teams had us all worked out, home games was the worst.
Clean slate, i will behind him, I hope he rams my words down my throat . Blooooobirds!

Same general excitement for the new season.
Not as excited as I was a few weeks ago when we signed Willock and Chambers and I thought we were going to have a proper go at it and add some more similar quality players, it seems to have died down.

Not really two free transfers hardly fills me with excitement to be honest better have gone back to there clubs after loans last season in my opinion.
People keep talking about top six though I do wonder what planet there on
I'll be there eitherway

Always excited which usually leads to some semblance of reality by Xmas , excited again until transfer window closes. Then back to reality.

Yes, I'm excited. So far, after watching the friendlies, I have no reason for pessimism and I am impressed with Bulut. Whether or not he can be successful will depend on how much he is backed and how good he is at this level. He seems a nice guy so I wish him well.

Always excited ...

Every season I get excited, hoping we will improve and new hope.
This season could be an improvement, I hope so.
Still feel we need a few better players than we have including what has been missing every season, a striker who can score 15 goals.

Getting a bit more exciting!

As things stand we are on for arguably our best transfer window in a good while, I'd say since DJ days.

More excited than usual this season
Decent looking signings…quality rather than quantity this transfer window
A more experienced Colwill, a fully fit Ramsey or a rejuvenated Robinson are real exciting options to play at 10
More pace out wide and hopefully a proper striker will mean more attacking and exciting football this season

Good post. Hard to disagree with any of that. Just got to wait and see now, that’s the hard bit
