Cardiff City will sign Wilfried Kanga on loan from Hertha Berlin on Monday.

Aged 26, he has played 23 games for Hertha’s first team.

Spent last season on loan at Standard Liege where he scored 12 goals in 36 league games.

He has one cap for the Ivory Coast national team.

Think forward is probably a better description. Can play through the middle or on the wing. 12 goals last year at Liege isn't bad.

Scored the same number of goals (12) as Issac Davies for a better team in the Belgium League and yet most people on here don’t rate one of our own but think we have made a great signing?

Better pedigree maybe? Different type of striker? I’ve seen Davies play and don’t rate him.

Sort of a fair point.

I’m one who doesn’t rate Davies and stand by that.

Will wait until I see Kanga play before I judge him. But his market value and the fact he’s around prime age for a striker encourages me. Also appears to have physical strength so unlikely to be bullied by Championship centre backs, you can’t say the same about Davies.

Would also add that Ugbo scored more than Daka and Iheanacho last season, doesn’t make him a better player.

I did see a German journalist tweet something about a month ago that they wanted €6m for him.

We have an option to buy in the deal but no obligation.
