He got fired over tweets on his own Twitter account. As far as I'm aware he didn't do it when acting on behalf of the football club. Regardless of if you agree with him or not, people should be allowed to express their views on their own time.

I think our responses relate more to not wanting Palestinian flags being displayed in the ground as a sign of support for our potential new player. Nobody is denying that he is entitled to air his views in his own time.
