Change of beer provider at CCS

Wed Jul 31, 2024 4:14 pm

We are delighted to announce our partnership with Carling, who become Cardiff City FC’s Beer Partner ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Carling belongs to international brewers Molson Coors Beverage Company, whose range of highly regarded beverages will also become available around Cardiff City Stadium as part of the new partnership agreement.

For over two centuries, Molson Coors has been brewing beverages that unites people to celebrate all life’s moments, producing many beloved and iconic beer brands. While the company’s history is rooted in beer, Molson Coors offers a modern portfolio that expands beyond beer.

Thanks to the new partnership, alcoholic beverages including Carling, Madri, Sharp’s Cold River Cider, Carling Black Fruits Cider, Staropramen and Aspall’s will be available at Cardiff City FC matches, beginning with Wednesday evening’s pre-season friendly against Reading!

New additions to the bars around the concourses will not be the only development that supporters at CCS will recognise, however; with enhancing the matchday experience as a principal factor in mind for both the Club and our partners, Carling has updated bars in both concourses and hospitality suites alike with a fresh, new look.

Cardiff City FC’s Head of Commercial, Huw Warren commented: “We are delighted to welcome Carling to the Club. They’ve joined ahead of a landmark season in the Cardiff City’s history, and we’re excited for supporters to benefit from what our newest partner will bring to the matchday experience at CCS. We hope that supporters enjoy the extensive line of products offered on matchdays throughout the upcoming season and beyond, with a taste of what’s to come for those attending on Wednesday evening.”

Molson Coors Beverage Company Carling brand director, Lee Willett said: “As the Official Beer Partner of the Football Association of Wales and the FA Cup Competitions, Carling is proud to be the new beer partner of Cardiff City Football Club, a club with over 125 years of history in the beautiful game and who are committed to supporting their local community. Good luck to all Cardiff City FC teams for the season ahead!"

please make the prices reasonable to encourage fans in before the game.

Why not go out to Tiny Rebel, also? A quirky/cool alternative to pissy Carling. Welsh touch.

Then whoever is in charge of this absolute money pit, either work on the quality or lower the price. Overpriced and un-drinkable is a bit of a piss take.

I reckon average of £7 a pint as captive audience. I'd be surprised if its anything less.

Agree, ref: bringing local brewers in, maybe as guest ales.

Would hope the prices come down but sadly don’t expect it. I thought that Compass decide the prices but might be wrong?

Hopefully someone who’s at the game tonight can post what the prices are.

Chippy Lane is what non Cardiffians have started calling it. To Cardiffians it's always been Caroline Street. Or maybe things are changing.

Good to see a Welsh Pale Ale on sale (is it the Glamorgan brewery 1927 ale?). Id rather use Carling and Madri to unblock my sink, and it's always Caroline street.

Born in Splott, and still live in Cardiff.
I’ve always known it as chip shop alley, or chippy lane.

Have always known it as chippy lane since late 90s onwards

Since the 70s I have always called it Chip Alley because the floor was literally covered with chips

I wasn’t born then  but yeh exactly that , a lane/alley full of chips n paper on the floor, used to be totally covered .
Don’t know what it’s like now

I fisrt heard it called "Chippy Alley" on telly in the mid 00s. But i've never EVER heard a Cardiffian call it anything other than Caroline Street, maybe i'm getting old and things have changed. Soneone needs to do a poll on this controversial topic.

For what the beer is it’s expensive. Would never pay 5.20 for a carling anywhere

Yeah but that’s like the difference between buying from the supermarket and the pub. You can buy a four pack of something for the price of one pint.

“Brewed in Burton On Trent”

Wasn’t originally made there.
