11 SO FAR & FUTURE TACTICS

Wed Jul 31, 2024 10:51 pm

The 11 as it stands.

Young players like Ashford perhaps more depth, O’Dowda can play LB, CB backups still an unknown.

Looking at this, LB cover still needed, another CB, and I wouldn’t mind someone at 6 to backup or compete with Siopis. Ralls could cover 6 maybe but maybe better as an 8 or part of a double pivot.

Loans likely to fill the gaps I’d imagine.

If Bulut inverts one fullback to double pivot and play two 8’s ahead, then we can expect something like this in attack.

Could see 4-3-3, with a 6-8-10 midfield setup and fullbacks control width.

Other option, potentially against low blocks, a double pivot of two 6’s with a 10 in front.

The formation has to include Robinson as a first pick.

Rambo is supposed to be dropping down to a no6 according to bulut he sees it as his best position to help team go forward.

If he drops down then I’d imagine maybe a double pivot like the last formation. Otherwise, Siopis is making bench appearances.

I would find that strange if they really want an 8 though.

The most pleasing thing about this pre-season is all of a sudden we have squad depth that we didn’t know we had.

Bulut has recruited within - Ashford, Kpakio, Joel Colwill, Eli King, Bagan (centre back and left back), Giles, Davies etc.
Plus the starting 11 signings like El Ghazi, Willock, and Kanga pushing first teamers to fight for their spots, increasing the depth again.
