Very strange he’s not there unless something’s going on. Best player in preseason and considerably better than Meite. Don’t understand

He was never going to be involved in this game.
Played 90 minutes on Wednesday so that was the last pre season game for him.
Chambers and Willock only played part of that game which is why they can be involved today, they need minutes ahead of next week.

No McGuiness?
If we are looking at a different CB then I wouldn't be surprised if MM is off?
Sat Aug 03, 2024 1:26 pm
Good team,youngish bench

Weak upfront again sooner we get someone else in for the goal shy miete the better hopefully will see our new striker at some point and also sign another

Would have to buy 2 if he was off. Need 4 senior players there.

So far looks like the fullbacks in their natural positions, Ralls and Siopis as the double pivot with Ramsey ahead as the 10.

Also a little interchangeable off the ball too

Wtf all this fannying about from side to side at the back going nowhere.

1-0 Bluebirds
Quality from both Willock and Ramsey
Playing in a deeper role for Ramsey - Hopefully we will see more shots on target like that

Absolutely brilliant support by Cardiff today

Willock looks a good addition as we lost grant.
Sat Aug 03, 2024 2:47 pm
Didn't you watch us last season?
Sat Aug 03, 2024 2:49 pm
Decent first half, great goal by Ramsey.
All the back five very comfortable on the ball.
Willock doing well, his pace will cause problems.
Meite struggling, doubt he’ll play next week. Hopefully see Kanga in the second half.

Its how bulut will play it same as last season thats his style we have to get used to it but we make mistakes playung this way siopis nearly got caught out with our keeper just.

The biggest problem with pissing about at the back for me besides mistakes causing goals is when there are minutes left & we need a goal.

I agree with this. Over the course of a season we could give away five goals through pissing around at the back. That is potentially the loss of 15 pts.
Its hard enough to reach 90 points for automatic (or 75 for play offs) without giving yourself a -15pts disadvantage
Another way of looking at it is, if other sides play from the back, and we decided not to, we could potentially have a 15pt advantage over others.

Don’t have an issue with it. Better than hoofing it up the pitch to nobody.
It’s the way we play now.

I get your point but it would be 10 points lost. Still would get a point from each drawn game

You have a choice hoofball or playing from back? Very difficult to do both consistently during a game .... yes mix up if getting pressed but can't do one goal kick long next one play
short! We've shown plenty of attacking intent so nothing like latter part of last season....
If we lose points messing about at back so does everyone else
Sat Aug 03, 2024 3:13 pm
It’s about time we keep the ball and pass it, don’t know why fans are complaining. Hated hoofball.

Good teams mix and match depending on how opposition play... must remember haven't got same players in squad so whilst we'll start at back the transition looks quicker.
