Whos our most important player this season?
The one we need week in week out.
For me it is Goutas.
Chambers might be eventually but Goutas is the one that commands that back line.

Goutas is a good shout.
But it’s still Perry Ng in my opinion. When he’s at the top of his game, we win.
May not be as important as other positions but he always sets the tone for how we’re going to play.

Exactly, completely agree about Perry. He can also goalkeep, score free kicks and be an agent for us bringing a player in like he did with El Ghezi!

Wouldn’t disagree with any of those choices but ‘week in week out’, wouldn’t Ramsey be good.
Maybe unrealistic though.

I thought Siopis last season when he hit a purple patch really made our midfield extremely good.If he can replicate that and maybe keep it for slightly longer he’ll be up there.

Goutas
Ng
Ramsey
Siopis
Those are the names so far. Arguments could be made for all of them

Its Ramsey, by a country mile. Best player in the division if >80%.
We attack and defend significantly better with him on the pitch and are more balanced. His pressing is phenomenal.
His availability could mean the difference between and good and a great season. We can replace all else, we cannit replace Ramsey.

Has to be Ramsey, head & shoulders above anyone else in this division but he cannot play every game & his playing time needs to be managed correctly.

Over the last few seasons there's been one player who for me is missed more than any other when he's not playing and that's our captain Joe Ralls.

Over the years, he has been brilliant and important to us. I agree with that.
But we have better players now, who are more mobile in that position than Ralls is now he’s getting older.
I don’t see him being a regular starter this season. Siopis and Robertson are likely to be first choice, although there will be rotation and Ralls will get some games.
For that reason, I wouldn’t class him as one of our most important this season - despite his brilliant contribution over many years.
But no doubt he can be relied upon to cover if Siopis or Robertson get injured/suspended.

You're probably right, he won't be needed as much this season, but I can't help thinking about seasons past where we've missed him.
My next choice is Ramsey. His experience and ability will bring out the best in the players around him. We saw glimpses of that last Saturday.

Ramsey id say. He's not got the legs like he once had but he's got that extra something over the others if and a big if we can keep him off the treatment table that's the biggest thing at the minute with him and his past injury record

Agree with both sides on his importance this season. Massively underrated by many and used as a sacoegoat alot.
He will be needed throughout the season and in sure he will be ready when he is.
His goal against Bristol I think was better than rambos.
Always gives 100 percent and loves the club..
