A forum for all things Cardiff City

Alrite lads. Posted a few times here over the years, always had respect for Cardiff, as have all pompey fans.
Anyway re the Robertson saga.. I have it on good authority that he wants to come to pompey, but we are struggling to get the transfer fee together to sign him.
Cardiff have agreed a fee of £1.75m for him which is out of pompeys price range, but we are trying to put a deal together with man city where as we pay a lower fee but city get a bigger sell on clause.
We can matxhbthe wages you have offered Robertson but your transfer fee blows us away.
The reason for the delay is because Robertson desperate wants to join pompey and he is hoping something can be sorted.
Anyway, no matter what happens respect to Cardiff from pompey, good luck next season

I can believe all of that, have read numerous times how much he enjoyed being at Pompey.
All I would say is that £1.75m is not a lot of money when you consider his re-sale value is likely to be much higher than that. So for your board, it would be a price worth paying.
I hope we sign him but the situation seems to be different every day.
Best of luck for the season, always enjoy my visits to Fratton Park

That’s what the media reports said, I know as much as you do

I've always thought the same of Pompey, good fans who back them through thick and thin.
Re Robertson, I was told that he was impressed by Bulut's vision and where he wants to play him, plus the project he shown him. I don't think anyone knows the exact truth of it, but I certainly don't think Cardiff are his reluctant 2nd choice. Time will tell I suppose.

Be interesting which side he decides to join,if it is Cardiff, hopefully just not because of the financial side,if he does come would he cut it at championship level?

More than capable of the Championship. He was far too good for League One before his injury apparently.

Has he played championship level before?,been loads of players who have been to good for division one,but have struggled when they ve stepped up,wonder if the pompey fan could give us his view, given he’s seen him play,be interesting anyway on what club he opts for

Equally there have been many players that have done well in League One and just as well in the Championship. The fact that us, Pompey and Hull all want him tells you everything.
The Pompey fan will tell you the same.

Without him actually being tested at this level time will tell I suppose

I would imagine Cardiff would match any additional sales riders like sell-on clause. So the fee may still be your issue.

He will go to whoever is paying the most wages once whatever club agrees the fee man city are asking for. Let's be realistic here. That's today's footballers. They all show this supposed "love for the club" crap in the media after being to a club on loan. It's nothing new tbh.

Fail to see how £1.5m is non affordable for them when can split it over 2years even? Wages shouldn't be a problem unless he wants to much if that's case his desire to go there is not overriding factor..... footballing wise we probably come out as better bet for promotion but of course yhats matter of opinion.

He’s come here; it’s a done deal to be announced “before Wednesday”
Telling Pompey supporters is one thing; signing is a different animal and he likes was Erol Bulut has sold him…
