Sunderland Away Support Numbers

Mon Aug 05, 2024 7:39 am

Approximately 2,800 sold

And they have sold 33,405 season tickets :thumbright:

Incredible for a city much smaller than Cardiff

Not really a surprise, a well supported club. Think they got 30k+ in League One.

Would expect them to sell out for Saturday due to that and the fact it’s the first game of the season.

Believe they averaged over 40,000 last year and finished 16th, incredible support really, and probably not really boosted by away support given their location. Arguement there the best supported club in the division even above Leeds.

That’s loyalty on both beyond.

Time / distance not a problem to loyal fans

How many do you think we would take Ned, first away game of the season.
Sell 3,000 as it’s the first game??

Sadly we wouldn’t take anywhere near that these days Annis as much as I wish we would.

Like I say Sunderland’s away support is always brilliant, same as Newcastle in the North East.

Ned,

I remember going to Newcastle on a Friday night and we took 3,500 and to Sunderland on a Tuesday night nearly 1,500.

We’ve lost so much support it hurts.

Was talking to a Sunderland fan this morning in the gym. Doesn't seem too confident ahead of the game at the weekend, also seems to think Jack Clarke could be gone before the weekend too.

He reckons the away ends been sold out for a few weeks now too.

I went to both. The Sunderland trip was a 24 hour trip. Picked up 7am and dropped off the following 7am! :laughing6:

For the statos amongst us Sunderland are the 10th most successful club in the country on the all time list .with an all time average of 26000.we despite being the greatest team the world has ever seen are 33rd on the list with an all time average of 15000

Our support, for a capital city,is mediocre and at times, embarrassing.

I reckon we'll get about 22 to 23k on the weekend at best, which IMO is not good enough, given the weather will be fine, first home match, good prices, good signings and of course, Carling Black Label!

Sunderland have sold around 2,900 tickets out of an Allocation of 3,213

I’d expect them to sell most of the remaining tickets , especially if they sign Ugbo for £2.5 million :D
