Alex Robertson Deal is Done, But he may be some way off playing / starting.
He’s been in rehab for a bad hamstring injury and hasn’t played a senior game since January this year.

Anwar El-Ghazi hasn’t played since October last year, has been testing but needs a month of training with our first team and maybe a few hrs extra.

Chris Willock has missed some of our pre-season, so he is playing catch up.

When all fully fit, some quality there.

Agree with this, need to be patient for the first few games.

El Ghazi won’t be properly ready to start until after the international break at the start of September I think. Could come on off the bench before then.

Robertson needs time to get up to speed.

Willock will probably start on Saturday but can’t see him managing 90 minutes yet.

Kanga will be off the bench for the first few games.

But after we get through the first few games, we will have a really strong team and it’s something to be excited about.

Chambers not played much either and Kanga also a bit behind with his pre-season.

We know it's difficult to get players in early in the window but it would be nice every now and again to get in a player with a full preseason behind him who can go straight into the first team.

We’ve signed players before pre season started before so if you like, we can go back to those days.

With signings like Sawyers, Rinomhota and Romeo.

As they say the championship is a marathon not a sprint! Whilst a good start is good the fact got decent 11 before all the new recruits get upto speed is not a bad scenario.

It's always the same though we sign players unfit or injured a few weeks before the season starts so they are behind already as we leave everything late getting them in every season more or less. Hopefully they're all up and running full pace on the pitch asap :bluescarf:

Agree with this.

Willock and Chambers should be in contention to start Saturday

Kanga no reason why he can’t be at least on the bench

El Ghazi will probably be available in about 2 weeks and if he has signed no idea when Robertson will be available but hopefully by the end of the month

It is refreshing that we have done the bulk of our business before the season starts instead of scrabbling around at the last minute picking up players nobody else really wants

Not quite what I was saying.

It would just be nice once in a while to sign a player at whatever stage of the preseason who is not coming back from injury or who has not played very little first team football over the past few months.

I'd take the quality signings we have made over wank signings of the past. Regardless if they miss the first few games.

Agree with everything said, but we've just lost 3 players for between 2 to 4 months. Not saying they would or should start but they have experience and a good start is essential otherwise your allways playing catch up and don't want to get into a losing rut
