I think the Bluebirds supporters should be optimistic

Tue Aug 06, 2024 6:21 am

I think Bluebirds supporters should be optimistic about the future and expect, at the very least, a top six finish.

1 In Ramsey and O'Dowda Cardiff have two of the finest technicians in the Championship, the club's stronger squad will ensure their game time can be managed.

3 Chambers, Goutas, McGuiness and potentially McKenna ensures we have the strongest four centre backs in the Championship.

4 The signing of Robertson from Man City for just £3m is a master stroke. This allows our midfield anchors Siopis or Ralls to be paired with a central midfielder who possesses an ability to turn 360 degrees and whose first movement is forward, thus erasing any negative midfield tenancy. Another number eight might might well be recruited in addition.

5 The shrewd signing of Willock and an X Factor element in El Ghazi provides quality wide, I would expect McAteer to be borrowed from Leicester to further bolster our wide options, supported by the rapier quick Tanner - and youngsters Conte and Kmafio, if they are installed to refresh the right fullback position.

6 I believe you'll see the best of Meite and Robinson this season - especially if the feed from wide midfield is enhanced.

7 I am convinced attackers Wilfried Kanza and Anwar El Ghazi will become cult figures at Cardiff City via their personalities, the latter via his potent political stance and clear Premier League quality.

8 I am convinced our home record will improve beyond all recognition this term because of our new midfield balence - and become a platform for promotion as it did in seasons 2012/13 and 2017/18.

9 Chairman Mehmet Dalman has been a hugely positive influence on owner Vincent Tan. He persuaded the industrialist to vitally give manager Erol Bulut a new two-year deal which has injected stability into the Cardiff squad.

10 Financially, you feel Cardiff City are robust in comparison to their Championship peers. I think there is a definite anticipation of club coffers being swelled significantly if and when Cardiff finally defeat Nante in the French High Court when the five-year financial battle over Sala is finally laid to rest.

11 This is the Bluebirds' 125th year a time when we are witnessing the finest crop of youngsters emerge in, arguably, the history of the biggest football club in Wales.

If names like Conte, Kmafio, Fagan-Walcott, King, the Colwill brothers, Ashford, Evans, Tanner, Izaak Davies, Began and this striker Michael Reinoff taken from Norwich doesn't get you excited, start watching that dying egg.

These lads are gems and some will be worth a fortune in the markets.

In the knowledge of this, the Cardiff Board - led by Monaco and London city-based financier Dalman, will instruct local director Steve Borley to steadfastly oil that academy conveyor belt in east Cardiff.

More jewels will be unwrapped shortly.

Time for our fans to rally to the flag now. This is going to be our finest hour.

I feel we are going to be a bit ,ore solid and consistent for the good this season. If we had a bit of consistency after our start last season we would have finished in the top 6. I will not make a judgement call to where I think we will finish until after the first 10 games.

How very dare you. Positivity before the season starts. You should be ashamed.

I am cautiously optimistic about this season coming

If we keep McGuinness
Sign 3 or more out of Robertson, CB, LB, Mcateer & Cantwell
Keep Ramsey and El Ghazi off the treatment table

I'll be very very optimistic!

(Not asking for much am I :D :bluescarf: )

Hopefully we could be turning a corner into positive happenings
Ever since the Tragedy of sala it has been bleak here ,
It’s about time our luck changed

Like you confidence but we still need another striker or we won’t be anywhere near top 6

Strangely positive post from you but I’m not complaining.

I am optimistic, not saying I’m extremely confident but there are definite signs of optimism.

Robertson will be a key signing. It’s the player we’ve been missing for years.

El Ghazi, Willock and Chambers add real quality.

Kanga has all the attributes to succeed in this league.

There will be more signings before the end of the window.

I think by then, fans will be very pleased with our window.

But we will also be exciting to watch as well, because of the change of style and improvement in our quality.

A great positive read.

Personally though our first 5 games will define our season from there. Also, I honestly hope we are more charged up for a Jacks game home and away.

Thing is we will not have our full team out until probably after 5 games so cannot judge the team.

I agree monty.

It will take time to have El Ghazi, Willock, Kanga and Robertson all at their best.

Yes I agree too. If we can hold our own for 5 games or so it’ll be a good season I think.

This squad is still missing back up -in a few departments ( loans still to be played ) ...

But 1 department of the team that gets overlooked are our Goalkeepers - Both could be number 1 .

Good Luck to Our Club this season :bluebird: :bluescarf:

Totally agree Tony.

For whatever reason, we've always been blessed in this area, and I guess that's why there's never been a heated argument about the No. 1 position. I'd be more than happy if either Horvath or Alnwick were between the sticks, both great keepers. :bluebird:

It's a difficult start, but it was last year and we did well, let's hope we catch the first three cold, a three league win start away to Swansea would be dreamland!
