Wed Aug 07, 2024 7:46 am

It seems that West Ham are looking to offload striker Danny Ings

https://www.footballinsider247.com/west ... r-sources/

Should the club enquire about his availability?

Pros;

More then capable of scoring goals
Very experienced
Would be another striker that we desperately need

Cons;

Wages
Transfer fee
Age

He s on 120k a week and won't take a pay cut he's out of the question

There's a few ways of looking at this. A free transfer would cost us £6m

That's the same at buying kieffer moore for £4m plus £30k per week.

Maybe a loan where we pay 50% of the wages = £3m

I mean it could be doable - if mcGuinness was sold for £10m

West Ham won't entertain a loan. It's FFP book balancing.

Zero chance of him coming to us. Unsure if I'd want him, either. It's in the Hasselbaink, Fowler, Lambert mould for me.

Not for me, he has a shocking injury record and his wages are too high anyway.

Wouldn’t be surprised if he went to Saudi for one last payday.

Probably Saudi but if a championship club can get a deal done that benefits them he will contribute goals and assists ....

With all due respect "SB 1927", I wouldn't put Hasselbaink in the same failed journeymen group as Fowler and Lambert.

No thanks. For his wages we could buy 3 maybe 4 decent players

Way too late this one. The time to get him was when we got promoted and he was still at Liverpool.

He would have been available on loan for around 5 6 mil in loans fees and wages. I get the business sense of spending 10 mil on Bobby Reid as he was young with sell on value, but I always wish we took the gamble and went for ings on loan that year.
