https://theanalyst.com/2024/08/champion ... 4-25-opta/Admittedly, it looks like it's mostly based on last seasons performance, although we did finish 12th....

Someone is obviously going to finish bottom but I don't believe it will be us at all
49% chance of relegation?
Wed Aug 07, 2024 10:52 am
A lot of the predictions have got us being relegated.
I can't see that happening at all.
Wed Aug 07, 2024 11:30 am
What a load of bollox that is! They got it completely wrong last season as well.
So they honestly reckon we have the weakest squad in the entire division and that the promoted teams will outperform us? Total joke

The bookies and AI have a go every season start and get it wrong. We were to be relegated this season according to the bookies at the start of the season. The idiot writing the algorithm must be a jack.

They're prediction is soley based on statistical figures they use ! And you will find we didn't do very well on most things except dead ball goals and points gained

Based on last season, things are very clearly different this season.
These supercomputers are never right anyway.
Forget pre season predictions, let’s see where we are on Saturday and again after ten games.

Clearly we did quite enough with the dead ball routines (an important aspect of the game) and points gained (the most important aspect!). God help us when AI is responsible for all decisions and outcomes!

How on earth can anyone let alone a supercomputer predict that a side will finish 24th when we
a-Finished 12th last year
b With 3 of its best players injured for a lot of the season who are now fit and raring to go,
c Has now strengthened
Bizarre, but great for us who are putting money on the ridiculously generous odds being offered to finish in the top half and playoffs

Obviously dead ball was great top of league in fact top of premier & efl... in most other aspects like goals expected ect ect we were near or below bottom 3 in championship.... People must remember opta is the analytical basis of all stats used in English football .... so they are correct in saying we'd get relegated based on stats from last season.... but obviously new players mean those stats will be in reality totally obsolete. This coming season.

I am pretty certain that is NOT the Opta analysis company that are affiliated to many of the major sports.
Just a bunch of hacks with heavy bias on their own Commodore 64 "Super Computer"

Wouldn't no as don't follow any of these so called analytical equations but based on fact they have us bottom cannot think of any other way can reach such a decision... anyway they're wrong as we know.

When will a 'supercomputer' just be a 'computer'. It's not the 70s, we know the power of AI nowadays.
Wed Aug 07, 2024 5:05 pm
The supercomputer obviously wasn’t at euro2016.
We’ve got the best player in the league!
Wed Aug 07, 2024 6:22 pm
No chance
Wed Aug 07, 2024 7:46 pm
This supercomputer clearly does not like us much ....
Last season they had us down for 23rd, but we were the biggest overachieving side according to their graph.

I really don't see the point of computer modelling for sporting events. If they were consistently accurate, which they're not, there would be no reason to hold these events as the results would be a foregone conclusion. They can't even predict the weather with any great accuracy so they have no chance where a human element is involved.

We were put down to finish in the bottom 5 last season
