Anything new for match day?

Thu Aug 08, 2024 6:19 pm

Anyone heard or would like changes to the match day day experience. No doubt there be bands under the Canton and guest speakers in the Ninian.Probably Men of Harlech and Hey Jude prior to kick off and Motörhead before second half.

I’ve suggested prior maybe “y viva Espana” to rile our English friends or bring back I’ll be there :old:
Maybe bring back Ali"

Just the usual build up expected. :sleepy2:

I used to like Ali. He'd select some very apt and amusing songs depending on who we played.
For Example; the music from the Hovis advert when we played a northern club; or 'hit the road,Jack' after we beat Swansea.

The stadium announcer in recent seasons does his job, but it all seems very repetitive.

Hey Jude has been adopted by England, these days, because of Jude Bellingham. That should definately be removed.
Also, Men of Harlech seems a bit stale now.

We could do with some fresh ideas.

Are there any fans area's

The magnificent 1970s staple from Burton on Trent, Carling Black Label! The excitement is palpable.

My old favourite - very old- was "Those were the days". That was our song in the late 60's and early 70's - the Toshack and Clarke era. Many happy memories of bouncing up and down on the Grange End singing it. It was our song. Mary Hopkin may have been from the Swansea valleys and for all i know the Jacks may have sung it as well, but they didn't matter in those days.
