Not sure we are going to get in the playoffs, Playing with one up front isn't working.

I don’t know if the plan was to play Davies in a pair. The injury has obviously scuppered that if it was the case.

Has Bulut ever played with two strikers in his managerial career?

You could be right , robbinson tbf was running his arse off

Totally agree Wez, I am not a great fan of Bulut he seems like a one trick pony his tactics baffle me at times

Yeah can’t fault his attitude today. Just no chance of doing anything up front by himself.

Id love to see Robbo as like a false 9, Ralls or Sio out so there's 1 less in the three of those and Rambo, then Kanga/'20 Goal Signing
' up front.
Only bring on the Ralls/Sio safety when we need it to protect a lead.
Robbo looked bright today, and was very vocal to others which I like; however he's simply not going to win an areal duel against any 2x centre backs in this division.

Us protecting a lead always worries me.
For as long as I can remember, we always sit so far back welcoming as much pressure as possible and inevitably concede at the end

I still don’t think Robinson is a striker. He doesn’t have the pace for it.
Kanga looked quick when he was chasing down defenders in his brief appearance.
Robinson has a much better attitude than last season it seems, which is a good sign. But I think he’s more suited to the Ramsey position when Ramsey can’t play.
The issue is giving him regular minutes because he’s a good player but is obviously not going to be chosen ahead of Ramsey.

Robinson spent too much time on his arse waving his arms around for my liking & there was no way he was getting a penalty out of that ref if he had played another 2 weeks & he should have figured that out pretty quickly.

It's not necessarily the formation. Plenty of teams play with one striker. Its the tempo and quality we put into the box. Thought the first 15 minutes was excellent today and then we fell for a classic sucker punch and ran out of ideas. It happens. When we have Robertson, El Gharzi, Kanga and Willock all fit then let's see and judge what we are like. More signings coming as well. Too many knee jerk reactions to today. We lost in similar fashion to QPR at home last August then went on to have our best run of form in the past few years. Patience.

How many great saves from the Sunderland goalie , how many times did we hit the posts? Dreadful attacking play - summed up in the last 5 mins when they thought it would be a great idea to pass back and forth in defence.

To be fair we done that most the game back and forth the back line. Players turning back when they can turn and go forward in space. I don't believe we should be using one up too at home tbh. It's honking watching and we played it the whole game which baffled me why it wasn't changed we just had like for like swaps. Bizarre but only the manager knows why.

Almost hilarious to even mention top 6, we are way off. A players doesn’t turn a bang average side into promotion candidates. Wake up ffs. Mod table at best, more likely a relegation battle awaits.

Kanga looked as if he could be a threat but unfortunately we took off the one player who was capable of getting behind their defence to put ball in middle for him because he was knackered.... hopefully both can be on pitch same time in next couple of games. Will say we did in 1st half looked to get forward at every opportunity but like last season the end product was lacking? 2nd half slipped into the habit of looking backwards when getting the ball when there was opportunity to put ball in Space behind them very frustrating.

We're 3 points off the playoffs.

He certainly hasn’t with us even when he’s had hundreds of opportunities to change it when we have been behind. He is a one trick pony with his Bulut ball. Always will be two DCMs over 2 attackers even when playing pre season. And that makes life easier for our opponents. Gutted, I never wanted him to stay but was hoping for a new direction from him and some egg on my face, this top 6 thing , as awesome as that sounds it is madness.

In general I thought Tanner was awful yesterday and around 30-35 mins into the game I was saying to a mate I’d pull him.
Bulut was having a go at him and the gestures were quite obviously what the fk are you doing?
Surprisingly I thought Matey did ok when he came on.
Robbo ran his socks off, but without players getting up in support with him he wasn’t getting anywhere.
First game and could have gone either way for a while. On to the next one.

I know that many teams play with Bulut's one striker formation with success, but if you're trying to get a train to London, why the fk do you keep jumping on the train to Newcastle!?
FFS, it is early days, BUT it doesn't seem Erol has learnt much from the last half of last season.
You must play a formation that suits the ability and skills of the players you have. He has to drop a DM and play 2 strikers so we give the opposition something to think about. It was easy for the Mackems yesterday and I don't want to see CR7 being made a scapegoat because he was isolated. Erol should have left him on and put Kanga up alongside him. Perhaps then the ball might stick around in the final third and we'd make better chances.

Yes especially in 1st half if turned the good attacking play into a goal games different ... but unfortunately due to tiredness we had wrong people off the pitch when had right players on miete and Kanga..... things will improve despite gloom & doom with this result. Tanners problem is he doesn't want to take on defender not sure why but maybe its same as other players who look back not forward when in possession on halfway line? Several times perfect ball wide was on but because players looked to play backwards players upfront left frustrated!...thought Rambo was poor but maybe getting use to different position ?
