Family stand let us down today. Alot of empty seats in there. I wonder if its no-shows again?

Decent atmosphere. Deserved a goal or two!

There wasn’t 21.4k there.

When you consider Sunderland’s support of around 3k, there is no way there were 18k home fans.

Family stand numbers were very low.

Atmosphere at times was pretty good to be fair, but that stopped after the first goal. Picked up again for ten minutes in the second half, that was that.

The official crowd was 21401 and that included 2386 from Sunderland

Sky Sports Plus.

A game changer. Weather crap? Cant be bothered with the stress of parking up on top of that? Dont fancy the cost of the extras like food and drink etc? Game so crap you can just switch over / feel like you've not waated a day?
All sorted

Many here will berate it, but with so many games on it,it works out a much cheaper option to watch, especially if say its a family going down.

Be interesting to see the trend this season with it.

None if this "down there no matter what" drum banging...i'm actually intetested to see the impact on both ccfc and the league in general and if its actually a help or hinderence in growing club revenues / exposure as is the claim

But Sunderland fans can travel

And it never hurt other clubs

Plus we’ve signed quality

Great prices, yet the home support is down

Went with my son yesterday by bus (£9.50 return each..scandalous!!), who lives away (£18 ticket), breakfast before game (£8 each), so spent over £50 before a ball was kicked. I agree, many will watch on Sky this season due to overall costs and ease of watching from home.

You can't fault the season ticket prices, but the match day experience is poor. Lack of atmosphere is mostly due to the boring football that we are painfully having to watch. The biggest shout on Saturday was when the linesman gave a goal kick when the ball didn't go out. I'm 51 and can still remember when football was exciting, game of chess now.

I thought the stadium was full of empty seats, 21k is pretty low for an opening game but it was midday, shit weather, and already on Sky so I can see the reason behind not going.

As for the season ticket sales, about what I expected too after last season, personally I couldn't justify a season ticket, its a 2 hour drive there and back, getting out of Cardiff is a nightmare these days, and its a whole Saturday gone really.

Shocking attendance really, 18000 home fans and no doubt many no shows as lots will be on holiday. Remember the opening game at NP v Wycombe in league 1 2003 we had 17000…..not much change in 20 years :old:

They're not really an issue as they paid for their season tickets & get counted regardless.
