Michael Reindorf

Tue Aug 13, 2024 8:16 pm

Keep this player away from the academy.

He should be involved with the first team set up.

Not saying he’s the finished article but there’s a player in there for sure.

Purse, given time, will ruin him.

You're not sitting on the fence with your evaluation of Purse's insidious influence on young player development! :-)

Reminds me of when Cameron Jerome broke into our first team. Raw but there is definitely a player in there!

Re: Michael Reindorf

Thought he looked good. Energetic, maybe even a little too much.

Can't believe I've actually said that about a city player.

Re: Michael Reindorf

Tue Aug 13, 2024 8:40 pm

Raw, but definitely a good player there.
Have a feeling he will stay in & around first team.

Impressed with him ran like a tw.t fot everything and has a nice touch

Re: Michael Reindorf

Agree, he needs finessing but great to see a player putting that much effort in. Welldone Reindorf.

Re: Michael Reindorf

Tue Aug 13, 2024 8:46 pm

Impressed with him, Evan’s and Conte to be honest, all 3 of them looked confident on the ball attacking and tracking back

Re: Michael Reindorf

Tue Aug 13, 2024 8:47 pm

I love this guy. He's so enthusiastic, when he gets the ball he just wants to go forward.

I'm sure Bulut will sort that out....... :laughing6:

Not a lot went right for Conte but he kept trying and never gave up which is rare in a winger.

He did run his socks off, unlike all our players in the 1st half. As mentioned above, he needs to be in and around the first team, he's definitely got something about him and mixing with the seniors will bring him on......don't let Purse ruin him. :bluebird:

Re: Michael Reindorf

I want Kanga to succeed, but Reindorf showed him how to Harry a defence, how to make them play the ball quickly.

In doing so, their team doesn't have time to reset their shape, while their back four fart around with the ball, and it also drags mistakes out of the opposition.

His energy and attitude was spot on, loved seeing him play.

Him and Tanner changed the game. Both ran at players, forced them back, and made them realise they don't have all the time in the world.

Jonny 2nd half showed bulut how we should play press onto defenders? But unfortunately Kanga is not that type player but if he gets the ball to his feet can be a brute to shift off it.... play to his strengths and he will succeed that's something we didn't do? As for Reindorf at present best thing is 15/20 mins appearance to get him use to the pace and physicality of championship ... we do have the players to succeed its whether things come together effectively? Think it's going to be a poor start but better as time goes on.... a reverse of last season

I'm not getting too carried away, but I agree that a 20 minute appearance here and there is going to do him the world of good.

Come the end of the season, I cAn see him pushing for starting place if his attitude remains the same.

I remember speaking to our assistant up at Blackburn last year and he said it wasn't always about playing the best players but those who fit into a shape better and those who bring out the best in others.

Kanga had zero service last night, and we do need to play to his strengths. I'll admit though that the only time the whole game I got out of my seat, was when Reindorf and Tanner came on.

Think hit nail on head with players playing that fit shape of team but what is shape of team? Trouble is got 6ft+ striker hardly a cross to get on end off and no ball to feet so can hold up play! Hopefully can get it right before long.

Re: Michael Reindorf

He looks fearless. Now is the time. Gamble, get him in the squad. He'd be ideal as a little man next to Kanga/someone who can throw their weight around a bit.

Unsure if he'd be ready to go up top as a lone striker from the off. Last 15 as a raw talent is something we don't really have as an option.

Give him 45 min sink or swim best attitude in a striker we have at the moment.
Remember Warnock gave someone 45min to save their career.

Think that Tanner is one who has had fear instilled to his game and has lost some confidence as a result! Well done coaching team!

No, Tanner just isn’t Championship standard.

He’s done one good thing for us and that’s scoring against Swansea. But that’s it.

It’s not about confidence, it’s about ability.

Then again, you know all of this. Of course it’s easier to take a cheap shot (and entirely untrue) against Bulut and his coaches.

We all have opinions but you can’t say he has only ever did one good thing for us in scoring against Swansea when he got us a penalty in the same game. Many have seen his ability beyond that one game even when playing as a left back and is one of a very few players that gets bums off seats when he gets the ball.

It seems obvious to most that ever since Bulut has criticised his defensive game, Tanner has rapidly gone from a guy who beats players to one who passes backwards or sideways.

I do think at times you're a bit ultra defensive of Bulut and I'm not sure why. Tanner was given a contract and added to the first squad so Bulut must see something there that can be developed to Championship standard.

I disagree completely that it's just about ability - confidence in professional sport is half the battle, that's what your head tells your body to do and its about having belief.

Tanner seems like one of these young players that needs the arm around him as well as the kick up the arse. I think he can do it and has come a long way since Lewes. Spurs were looking at him and they must've seen something there.

He does need to show more admittedly but I think he tried last night albeit in a less important match.
