Our Current crop of Kids

Wed Aug 14, 2024 8:59 am

I hesitate to call some of them kids, but the current influx appear more able to break through, than those we had under Mad Mick and Steve Morison.

Kpakio aged 17

Good against poorer opposition, caught out against better opposition, but stuck to his task and didn't hide against Rovers

Conte 22 yrs old in November

Just doesn't look a kid, which goes In his favour. Confident and strong and a few tricks. Needs a decent loan move to really bring the best out.

Eli King 22 yrs old in December

The loan moves seem to have worked, he's very energetic, and now starting to demand the ball. Box to box, still a few lapses In concentration, but warming to him.

Joel Bagan 23 yrs old

Much happier with him at CB. Never a great fan, but he can be exposed at LB, whereas, He has the benefit of a CB partner In the middle talking him through and covering if necessary.

Giles 18 yrs old

Steady, and didn't look out of place, a few loose passes, concentration levels like King need to go up, and a loan move would do him good. A few less first team opportunities than the others, and a good loan would show us more.

It's not about pumping 10 or 12 kids straight into the starting line up, bit one or two when necessary with the rest around the first team squad. I think slowly it might just reap rewards.

They do seem to be able to manage the rigures of championship! But not the time to push them as we are still trying to integrate new players into team... but useful members of the squad they are.

Jonny,

A few young, a couple should have made it by now.

Eli King and Joel Bagan should be first team regulars by now.
I have big doubts in both to be Championship players.

Conte I hope given the chance will be kept in the first team squad.

Kpakio looks the business keep him around

Giles 50/50 about him but has a year or 2 to prove himself
