God no couldn't stand the debate on his goal prowess... :o

I loved his goal celebrations.

Was it Barnsley away just before covid where Vaulks scored and did his usual acrobatic handspring and when Paterson scored he did his own less athletic version.

No thanks, limited at best with us but even that was a good few years ago !!

If we had Warnock, then yes. He’s a typical Warnock style player.

Right now, no thank you!

He would score goals in the championship. Runs the channels, holds the ball up. He’s better than Meite.

He scored zero in 25 games last year in the championship why do you think he would score in championship

he was played right back, midfield and anywhere they could fit him in last season. I don;t imagine Kanga will get near 10 goals, the big thing regarding Pato is, he closes everything down, goes for every header, and causes a mayhem to the opposition defence, if we could get him on a free and wages were lower, i'd take him, even if its as an impact sub

Have to disagree. Has been poor every time I’ve watched him over last 2-3 years. Live and on tv. We need to aim far far higher than him.

I don’t understand how you can instantly make a judgement on Kanga when he hasn’t played that many minutes and is clearly not match fit yet, but you believe Paterson is the answer based on him not hitting double figures in any of the last five seasons.

I’m not saying Kanga is definitely the answer because, like everyone else, haven’t seen enough of him yet.

If CP really would score goals in this division, why didn’t he for Sheffield Wednesday last season or why don’t they want him this season? You mention he played in different positions but if he’s such a good goalscorer then why didn’t they play him as a striker?

I do actually agree that we need another new striker but I hope it will be someone better than Paterson.

I don't think I would want him back but " limited at best "?? !! He was an integral and vital part of our promotion side and was our top scorer playing from midfield despite not starting until November due to injury.

He fitted into what Warnock needed. He was good in the air and worked really hard but that was it.

His touch was poor, his shooting was awful and he’s not very quick so yes, he is limited.

I will never knock his contribution in his time with us but he fitted that squad at the time and that was it.

He was signed as a full back and when playing in that position was timed as the quickest player in our squad. Warnock didn't rate him as a defender because he wanted to go forward all the time. He wasn't the most skillful but someone who can play full back, wide midfield, centre forward and winger can hardly be limited. In fact i think he even was due to go in goals if we ever had a issue with injuries to both keepers on the day. Add in his long throw and you have a very all round talented player.

I'm not judging Kanga yet, its more a case of chances created, we seemed to be playing with Inside forwards, inverted wingers, a striker like Kanga looks like someone who needs out and out wingers to get the ball into the air and win a few headers. he is more of a target man than a poacher number 9, and when you see the players behind i think we need a real number 9. I didn't say Pato would score the goals, but in some games, especially last season, we were holding on, lumping the ball forward and we had Etete falling all over the place, dropping like a fly, couldn't hold the ball up and we would lose it, and then drop back and sit deep. I feel with Pato, he'd be good off the bench just chase down everything, put opposition defenders under pressure. i aint saying he is the answer, but if he's available on a free, can't imagine it to be big wages, i'd rather look at the bench and see him there than Etete

Decent all rounder off bench ,is he fit though ?

29 is no age in this game unless you have dipped into the excessive of life

Re: Callum Paterson

Paterson isn't the answer.

There's a reason why he's not with Shef Wed anymore.

Our fans seem to have a thing with living in the past.

Just because he was "OK" back then doesn't mean he is now.
