Anwar El Ghazi appears to be making slow progress.

On the summer signing, Bulut added: "He is training hard. We don't want to use him so early that he gets injured or something like that. He had it before in PSV Eindhoven when he started too early and was injured for a long time. We don't need this. We want him fully fit to be able to play for us. He is still a few weeks away."

Rubin Colwill: Bulut has improved me

Rubin Colwill believes he has become a much-improved player since Bulut joined the club just over a year ago.

The Wales international enjoyed a positive season last year, but hopes that will translate into goals and assists this term. And he started in perfect fashion with a goal in the 2-0 win over Bristol Rovers in the Carabao Cup last night.

And Colwill puts his improvement down to the work Bulut has put into his game, saying: “You can look at when he (Bulut) first came in at the start of last season to the player I am now.

“The patience and tactical awareness of where to be and timing of movement - things I was not very good at before – has really improved. That has come from him telling me what he wants from me.


"I felt I had a really good year (last season) playing and training really well, I was obviously missing the goal in the numbers side of the game but I think that comes with practice and experience.

“Maybe early on in my career I scored a few more goals which I probably did not deserve, now I think it is the other way around. I would much rather it be this way – I am playing well and not getting the final touch.

We look also abroad. We have our contacts abroad and not only in the UK. We try to connect our network, European-wide, worldwide, so our recruitment, our scouts are also working in a really good direction.

I say three but it can be four. We will not spend money to get only some players, we want the right ones for the team. I will not have anything when I have a squad of 30 plus players and I cannot use a few of them.

I try to use as many players as possible, because rotation will come when we have games every three days. So we try to get the right ones so we can have 26, 27 players, including goalkeepers."

So, a few youngsters going out on loan including Raheem Conte, Malachi Fagan-Walcott and Kieron Evans!!!!

Giving the latter a new contract is one of the most bizarre things City have done in a while.

Cardiff boss Erol Bulut said this week that the club were broadening their search out to Europe to find the right signings.
