Coventry /Oxford

Two VERY impressive sides last night both going for gold. Backed by a big crowd, the sky blues really
caught the eye. Quick fast pace tempo, front foot football, tricky gifted players. They won't be far away this season.

An excellent game to watch great entertainment for Friday evening. :bluescarf:

Oxford were dreadful in defence. They’ll get a few hammerings this year imo.

Oxford have surprised me so far.

I thought they would be whipping dogs for the rest of the division.

Especially ad they have 4 players that were surplus to requirements with us in the championship.

Disagree. They had a really good team with skilful players constantly attacking. They did well to not get hammered. Coventry will batter a few teams this year.

Each of those players we could do with now.

Many players and teams coming up have a honeymoon period as they’re used to winning and they’re a surprise package. I’d be amazed if they’re not in the bottom 6-8 come April.

Ciaran Brown? Will Vaulks? I really don’t think so.

Harris seems capable of getting goals, certainly in attack minded teams. Wouldn't happen for us, but no striker would with our current set up.

It goes to show what the right manager can do. Loads of people always blaming the players for poor performances when they are only playing to how they are trained and setup, tactics etc.

Do you honestly think Brown and Vaulks are players we should have held onto mate?

I didn't say we should have kept any of them, what I'm saying is with the right manager, who knows.......

We are looking for a centre back as cover and we have Joe Ralls doing left hand circles in our team. Vaulks would be a decent back up for Siopsis.

2 in 2 for surplus to requirements striker Mark Harris. Written off as one worked hard but couldn't hack it in the Championship and given away. Why do we keep doing this to our young players... Play them in the right position ffs - Harris was used principally as a sub or a winger.

Can’t remember anyone saying he should have been kept when we got rid of him. Let’s see how he, and his club get on by the end of the season before we judge then I reckon.

A fair point regarding this season, but he also scored the goals that got them promoted last season...

It’s weird with Harris. He has clearly bulked up and his confidence has improved a lot and he looks massively different to the player I remember playing right wing for Cardiff.

He would get in our team 100%

As you’ve watched a lot of both teams, what would be your combined first 11 based on all players in current squads and with all players fit ?
