Youngsters need game time!

Sun Aug 18, 2024 9:49 am

Last season in the Premier league, there was 29 players under the age of 19 who got game time.

Those in the club who say they are youngsters and they need loan moves etc, need to wake up.

If they are good enough, they are good enough. They don't need loan moves to L2 clubs or Welsh league teams.

They need to continue their progression in the championship, in our team.

The fact that 29 players under 19 were given premier league game time proves this.

And guess what our youngsters are 18,19,20,21,22,23 yrs old and Bulut won’t look at them.

It’s a results game

Joke Colwill nearly 20yrs old , Class and sent out.

Bulut likes Oldies.

Oldest team fielded in the Championship yesterday

Annis it is madness that we don't play our young players.

They are full of energy and could be game changers.

I was surprised that Reindorf wasn't even on the bench yesterday

I think you summed it up why Bulut doesn't play them with "they are full of energy". The youngsters will want to play fast forward thinking football which is not the Bulut way.

Sunderland after a mixed season last season with the youngest squad, have not spent big and stuck with their young guns.

Cardiff City 0 Sunderland 2

So far today:

Sunderland 3 Sheffield Wednesday 0

Of course these youngsters will wobble at some stage as they will need some good / quality experienced put with them.

I read a few said Bulut’s gone for experience instead??
The oldest team starting yesterday in the Championship.

So how do these players become experienced as they are now 19,20,21,22,23 years old
And if your never starting, how do you get experience??

Glen Williams / Mehmet Dalman / Darren Purse and even Erol Bulut Raved about the players who have come through the last 2 yrs.

Not one started??

Rubin Colwill, McGuinness, Joel Colwell, Eli King, Cian Ashford, Joel Bagan, Giles

Gave New Contracts to Kieron Evans / Tom Davies

So, we got beat by Sunderland 2-0 last week, they’re hammering Sheffield Wednesday who turned in an impressive performance last week against Plymouth.

Then we’ve got Burnley who hammered Luton 4-1 last week, who beat us 5-0 (although the game could have been completely different if it wasn’t for Horvath mistake and how we were playing until that point)

Maybe it just needs time to click afterall…

If it’s all if’s ???

You have to score to win games that is surely a fact?

Sunderland will falter of course as they have not spent. But surely you want to see our Star players play that we have Raved about the last 2 yrs.
Just a couple surely?
It’s a Results game

And how did we do in our last 2 games v Relegated Rotherham and at home to Boro?

And where are the goals?

It’s 2 games in I agree early stages, but conceded 7 goals and none scored and continued where we left of from last season.
Is worrying

But caving in to 5 goals, remember Bulut does not believe in that, but we do this quite often under him.

Plus at least Sunderland are playing younger players.

We put out the oldest team in the Championship, yet have so many other players?

Dads army next

Maybe. But, football is fine lines.

I’m not happy about the first two results, but you can see the what’s trying to be implemented.
Our first group of fixtures are horrible. However, there’s definitely enough quality in this squad.

Very difficult for the players to get in the right mindset too in my opinion after your GK does that, and also after hitting the post, and goal disallowed they must have just knew it wasn’t going to be our day.

But I think getting rid of Bulut is probably the worst thing we can do. It clearly needs time, but we can’t pull the trigger straight away.

I think that we really need to evaluate after 10 games, and go from there. I do think we will get stronger as the season goes on, once things click.

Alright, we aren’t finishing chances, but we’re making them. I’d be more worried if it was like last season when we weren’t creating anything, but we are.

We need a manager here, who will play our Bluebird young guns. We have some great kids here, all banging
on the door for a start, all well good enough. Bulut continues to pick his favourite oldies each game.

Letting Joel Colwill go out on loan, as Annis has said was a complete joke. He should be the heartbeat of our first team now, alongside his brother. Conte deserves to start and the new lad who came on against Rovers given a blast. Get the kids in show the way forward. Ashford a better option than Meite.

Could play one upungster next week if that fails try next one and so forth! After that send them out on loan and start again? If it works just drop the players bulut brought in and put it down to a waste of money getting them in! No wonder average life of a manager in championship is 9 months. :o

Joel is a far better player / prospect than his brother who unfortunately is still a bench / impact plater imo.
Do you honestlt think that the two of them would be the 'heartbeat' of our midfield? All opinions mate but I'm afraid I don't think that.
Ashford isn't the player that a few people think he is imo and should have gone on loan (only our striker shortage prevented this I think).
Joel (gone on loan) and King are imo the only ones ready for first team action.
I do understand the 'knee jerk' reaction after our first 2 games but I'm afraid our 'kids' aren't as good as they've been made out to be (by MD and GW). Sorry if that's not what people want to hear but that's my opinion. :bluebird:

As for Sunderland - they had a plan towards the end of last season - and have stick to it this season .
