Swansea v Cardiff City
My View:
in a broad brush manner- is that : (1) We are definately better than them in ALL 5 mid-field positions (attacking and defending …including the #10).
(2) In all defensive positions (including GK) ….we are slightly better . (3) As for the lone striker which we both employ …..both of us are somewhat lacking .
My conclusion is that is that while “on paper” we are the better team and therefore should expect to win ….this will not be the decisive factor .
The decisive factor is going to depend on :
(1) Which of the two managers will better set up their team to play …..and the tactics . So it is down to the “MANAGERS” .
(2) Which of the two teams “WANTS IT MORE”!!? In derby games form is far less important than normal … but rather ….who has the ‘eye of the tiger’ and who is the ‘pussycat’.
So are we up for it ? Will Bulut do the business on the day ?

It's the "wants it more" aspect that we tend to fall short on. They seem to ramp through a few gears in their recent form and we just crumble (specifically at their place) recently.
Who's the 'Bellamy in the room' that will keep them all honest?

I agree that it's down to the manager to get the players ready for this game, he trains them, he picks the team, formation and tactics. When that whistle blows it's then up to the players to carry out those tactics.
However, how the club treats this fixture should start at board level. Ours treat it like any other game while Swansea treat it like a proper derby, a must win game at all costs. When they sign a player, he is told that this game matters more than any other and ever new manager is told the same. They've been building up to this game since the fixtures were released. Our board, manager and players will probably only start thinking about in training this morning.
A lot of fans seem to have an arrogance about this fixture, like we have the right to win because we are a "bigger club". News flash.....Recent history says different.
Until the whole club including us fans changes its attitude and treats this game with the respect it deserves, they will always be favourites, and rightly so.
It hurts like hell to say it, but I'm jealous of the way they treat this derby.

Has we all know the problem is the Jack's treat it as a cup final and we treat it as just another game (Not us fans but the management and some of our players) If both Ramsey and Ralls are injured then we are losing 2 players who do actually understand the South Wales derby! This week with no midweek game our training sessions should be hammering into our players how important this game is to us fans. Personally I would have Jason Perry around the squad and in the dressing room before the game to breathe some passion into them. What might go in our favour this time is Bulut knows he needs a result from this fixture and can't afford any complacency. If Ralls and Ramsey are not available then we are probably looking at a midfield of Sio, Robertson and Colwill in the 10 role and they simply have to perform. We also have to stand up to the Jerks intimidation and underhand tactics but not over react! My team assuming he plays a back 4 would be Alnwick, Ng Chambers, Goutas, Bagan, Sio, Robertson, Colwill, Tanner,(Meite) Wilcock and Kanga. If we don't sell MM I would have MM instead of Goutas but that loos unlikely. In a nutshell I want us to turn up on Sunday and give them a hell of a game if we then lose I will hate it but could accept it if every player has given their all.

After losing the first two and Bulut under pressure, he will throw everything at it as well, whether it is enough is another matter, but I'm sure he will be absolutely desperate not to lose this one also.

We have a decent squad but the problem is buluts tactics are crap and the players need bulut to let the shackles off

Bang on. Take the straitjacket off the turgid, one dimensional football. Its just like that clown Southgate - hindering the pace and movement at his disposal by overcoaching and complication.
Fingers crossed it'll come together against the Vermin.

My big worry is that we don't have the players who love the club anymore, or the players who understand what this fixture means to the fans.
We don't have the Bellamy, Perry, Chopra of the past.
The caravan dwellers always look more up for it than we do

Just wanna see some heart, fight and determination. On paper we are the better team.
I think, after last season, Bulut now knows what this game means. The way the swans celebrated their last victory, it would have hurt him surely.
I'd give Colwill complete free reign on this one from the first whistle. If he plays to his potential, Swansea won't be able to handle him.

What makes you think that Colwill has that much ability because I just don't see it. As I said on another thread he has a few good moments with the ball but his decision making for that final pass or shot is abysmal every time & believe me I would love him to prove me wrong.

His decision making is really bad lovely approach play which people see but it's at end where he fails and it costs us good chances of getting a shot away .... but he's not only one as guilty.

Class he will love it, it will wind them up no end
Chopra to be in away end at derby
Cardiff derby hero Michael Chopra has said he will be in the away end at the Swansea.com Stadium this Sunday.
The former Bluebirds striker, who scored an iconic winner against the Swans back in the 2-1 win in 2010 — during which he also scored Cardiff's first — and is a cherished memory for so many City fans.
And if Cardiff needed an extra added element of motivation, it might just come in the form of one of the club's legendary figures cheering them on from the away end on Sunday afternoon.

His end product defo needs to improve, completely understand what your both saying there.
I just genuinely think their is a superb player there somewhere. We see it in glimpses but what better time for him to suddenly click than now against THEM.
It's wishful thinking I know!

We need a strong ref, they are all over them like flies if a player goes down waving imaginary yellow and red cards, he needs to book the first one and send them all away with a warning the next one will be sent off.

Send Chopra down to the dressing room, to talk to them before the game starts, show the video of him scoring, and let them know what it means to the fans.
Hopefully Bellamy will be telling them all this week down and around the training ground.
