Horvath will not be dropped : The vast majority o

Mon Aug 19, 2024 4:29 pm

Horvath will not be dropped : The vast majority of those I’ve spoken to are calling for and believe that Horvath should be dropped vs Swansea …..and moreover believe that indeed Bulut will drop him .

Personally I believe that Bulut will not drop him ….not now . Bulut knows that if Horvath is dropped now …..it will be his end with us ….as he will kill the guy .

Yes it was a terrible and embarrassing mistake for the first goal vs Burnley and yes he conceded 5 goals ……but Bulut will understandably tell him …..forget this game …..these things happen ….. you are good and I trust you ….. now go out like a tiger and prove me right . I will be very surprised if he is dropped vs the Jacks.

Seen several goals this season scored because of goalies howlers.... hard life being a goalkeeper with the play from back mentality occupational hazard.

If Bulut drops him than that will be bad man-management ….and a bad reflection on Bulut . Bulut has stuck with Horvath so far ……and this one game did not make him any worse .

It will be up to Horvath to get his finger out and do the business and put up a great performance vs the Jacks . If he does not show character and courage …… then yes ….it may become a different story because Alnwick is not a bad keeper ….. neck and neck with Horvath anyway.

Totally agree Allan

Whilst a soft goal he won't make that mistake rest of his career... bulut likes him because he's more calm on the ball compared to anwick.... yes he looks like takes risks but in reality he's just avoiding attackers attempt to block him.... anwack does panick in same situation and just boots it out play a lot of time's... anwick maybe better shot stopper though.

He messed up and ultimately when a keeper messes up its often pinpointed a lot more than if an outfield player messes up.

Hes conceded a lot, but a lot of that is to do with errors from the back 4, hopefully the new signings will see us become tougher to break down

Agree our defense in front of him is bad and it's not down to him that's for sure ..

Annis, as crazy as it sounds, I think it’s probably good to not drop him. Give him the chance to sort it.

100% he won't be dropped. Should be but it's like when any player is not at it, unwritten rule a manager will not sub before halftime because it will upset player. Snowflakes!

I agree with Forever Blue, Bulut will not drop Horvarth because that would destroy him - and because Bulut has humanity in him.

Totally agree with you. And agree with bulut if he doesn’t drop him.

He shouldn't be dropped for the reasons Annis mentions in the OP as it would be a blow but that's the life of a GK. As someone else said, a GKs mistakes are always amplified over mistakes made outfield and we've all had bad days at the office.

However, I do think that Alnwick is a better keeper if I had to pick from the two and I also think that our GK area has suffered a bit since Dibbs was sacked by SM, I really think he should be brought back to head up the section, as GK has been out strongest position for many years and it's the most specialist position on the pitch.

Agree with all of this.

I think he should be dropped.

He made one major error but was also unconvincing the rest of the game.

If he doesn’t get dropped after a performance like that then what will it take??

Alnwick was dropped for far less.

Tanner put in a poor performance against Sunderland and was dropped for Burnley, so I don’t see why it should be different for Horvath.

I think forever blue pretty much got it right in his opening post. I totally concur and hope Hovath isn’t dropped.

Ned it takes more than one bad game to remove any goalie ..... at least he shouldn't do this again in his time at city... :D
