PERRY NG

Gents i come in peace and just want everyone’s input on NG? I’m a big fan myself and really rate the lad but so many fans love him he hardly gets criticised for his errors I had him last week at fault for the 2 Sunderland goals, even thou he’s a great player I don’t think he’s that effective as a right back and often feel he would do a great job in siopis roll, he’s great on the ball, cool and calm but you never really see him overlapping to get a cross in, maybe bulut have gave him specific instructions not too,

I rate NG as a defender but right back is not his best position. He far better as a right sided centre half in a three. What he lacks in pace he makes up for with his football IQ. He's a fantastic dead ball specialist and scores a good percentage of goals for a defender. I hope he stays and plays in as a centre half in a three.

Didn't have a great pre season and has started poorly in the league. If a huge bid come in I would expect him to be sold but surprised not much interest as he has been player of year 2 years running

I agree. As part of 3CBs he’s outstanding but at fullback he’s always at a disadvantage as he just doesn’t have the pace. At CB he reads the game really well and his distribution is excellent.

He gets away with it at fullback most of the time as he’s really intelligent but he’d never make it in the Prem as a fullback and can be targeted even in the Championship.

I don’t agree that RB is not his best position. He’s been consistently good there and our player of the season for the last two years.

But no doubt he has been poor the first two games of this season.

I don’t know if it’s because he’s thinking he could be on the move or something else.

But he’s 28 now so he could well be thinking his last chance of a decent move would be this summer.

I also think for that reason there won’t be any big bids for him. Any club who are interested would likely only get two decent seasons out of him.

He’s never been quick so he doesn’t have that to fall back on as he gets older (like Kyle Walker for example) so he will struggle to be consistent when he gets into his 30s.

There’s a decent argument for him to be dropped for the Swansea game due to his poor start.
