“ Another Cardiff City player about to go out on loan As

Thu Aug 22, 2024 1:17 pm

Erol Bulut continues with his Dads Army team, soon to be Grandads Army.

Cardiff’s First Team in the Championship is by far the Oldest at the average age of 29 years old.

Malachi Michael Fagan-Walcott Aged 22 Signed from Tottenham last season and a big deal, made of it,made one Bluebird appearance, But then Erik Bulut sent him Fagan-Walcott on loan to Dunfermline where he made 15 appearances.

This season Fagan-Walcott was expected to be a first-team player ( aged 22) and once again Bulut with yet another player wants to send him alone.

Expect Fagan-Walcott to go out on loan very soon.

I expect the usual suspects will again say at 22 years old they need toughening up and will come back better players

Conti is being sent out on loan.

Plus Kieron Evans

“Kieron Evans is going out on loan.”

Kieron Evans was just given a new contract last month, will be 23 years old in 2 months.

This makes sense with the signings of Daland and Fish.

Fagan-Walcott not good enough anyway.

Ok fair enough Ned,

Why did we make out he was this ex great Spurs player and raved about him and Bulut did.

Let’s just get rid and stop all this nonsense if they are not good enough by say 21.

Andrew,

And deep down that’s my point the majority are not.
But we build them up.

Bullshit about them, praise how well we bring through all these great players backed up by Glen Williams.

All clubs build up signings who said he was a great player? Wasn't he bought for the u21 to make the numbers up ?

Yeah I agree, not seen anything from him that suggests he’s good enough.

Should get rid permanently not just on loan.

Yes have to agree. Baffles me that one or two have been offered new deals but have not really been part of first team squad. I see something in Joel C and understand that a loan could hopefully get him ready for the first team next year. Can’t see point in giving players new contracts then loaning them out for 1-2 years. Tbh many of them should be either in or around the first team or shown the door, harsh but that’s my opinion.

With the exception of King so far I don’t see any of these loans being a negative. Bulut knows more about these players than we do. If they’re deemed not good enough (yet) by him then that’s that.

I really don’t think the age of the team matters. It we’d had an easier first 2 games and come away with 4-6 points then nobody would be saying anything about our average age. If these players go away and improve and either generate more money when we sell them next season or are then good enough to enter the first team when our older players start to go downhill then either is fine with me.

Obviously I want to see our youth do well but if they need numerous loans to get there then that’s fine IMO.

Sunderland fans were expecting a defeat and they played the youngest team in the Championship and were at Cardiff, for me and many others that should have been a City Win.

Burnley looked average, best time to play them, but if you can’t score goals, you won’t win games.

14 years and NOT ONE Academy player that has gone out on loan has come back and made it for City, very sad to see.
