“ Kieron Evans goes on loan to Newport “

Fri Aug 23, 2024 11:04 am

Winger Kieron Evans has joined Newport County on loan for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.

Academy graduate Kieron has made 11 appearances for the Club to date.

We'd like to wish Kieron all the very best of luck.

Kieran Evans spent the last two seasons at Non League clubs Torquay and Gateshead.

Bulut just gave Evans a New contract.

Evans 23yrs old in a couple of months.

So Eli King, Joel Colwill , Kieron Evans and next Conti all being sent out after the media praise and Bulut praise and none of them kids.

Kieron Evans has completed a season-long loan move to Newport County and is determined to "make his mark" in League Two.

The 22-year-old, who has 11 Cardiff appearances to his name, inked a loan agreement at Rodney Parade and met his new team-mates at training this morning ahead of the clash with Accrington Stanley this weekend.

After loan stints at Linfield, Torquay, and Gateshead over the past two years, Erol Bulut felt another temporary move away was the right move for the former Wales youth international, who signed a one-year deal with Cardiff earlier this summer. He will link up with Cameron Antwi at Newport following his move from the Bluebirds ahead of the campaign.

"I needed to play league football this season to continue my development,'' said Evans, who netted for Gateshead in their penalty shoot-out victory over Solihull in last season's FA Trophy final.

"I had several offers from Football League clubs, but I felt Newport County was the right move for me, especially as I am only living in nearby St Mellons.

"More importantly though, I believe the style of football will suit my game. It's a different philosophy from last season and I am really excited about trying to make my mark."

This is my whole point, it’s crazy how the decisions are made:

I said when they gave Evans the contract I was told he was going out, just shows clueless.

Kieron Evans will be 23 yrs old in a couple of months.

We give him a new contract after After loan stints at Linfield, Non League clubs Torquay, and Gateshead over the past two years.

We know he’s not a Championship player, yet we give him another contract???

The decisions are madness.

One player has made it from the Academy in to our first team,in 14 yrs and he was not loaned out, Rubin Colwill, nearly 100 games for the City aged 23.

Please don’t ruin his brother Joel as he is even better.

What people are not understanding is our club make money off these loans also if they have a good sesson there's a possibility that they either come back stronger and go into the team or we get a fee for them , just releasing them we gwt nothing.

Do they Wez

That’s a new one with us Wez??

In the past most clubs we were lucky to get them to pay just over half of their wages.

For a fact Newport just about afforded Evans wages.

And Joel Colwill City got 75% of his wages back.

You can see that the decisions being made are f*cking unbelievable yet again and Evans contract is madness you’ve come up with a new one.

We are not Chelsea or Man United

It’s Kieron Evans

And have they made a right decision on Bulut?

Wez, please stop

Wez, I love our Club , absolutely can’t stand the Hierarchy, but I love the Club but not putting them first before our club like you do.

Who made that decision?!

Clearly wasn't the manager if he's gone out already and nothing to do with the first team. Bizarre decision in my opinion by the club

He's not good enough clearly or he would be in the first team line up by now. Could have used them wages which I doubt isn't alot compared to others on a first teamer.

My point is if he has a good season and we trigger the 1 year extension and someone wants to pay a fee for him then we got money instead of releasing him and getting nothing.

Don’t forget Declan John Annis, played over 200 league games including Premier League for us and Rangers, also Mark Harris 87 games for us and now already has 3 goals in Championship for Oxford after his 19 goals last season. I agree with you that our Managers have been reluctant to play our Academy players, look at Ruben now,Bulut rarely plays him from the start!

I had high hopes for Declan, even gave his boots to My Daughter from his Premier days with City.
Malky rated him.
After Malky City sent Declan out on loan and he only went down hill from there and is still only 29yrs old but plays now for Salford City.

Played in the Premier for City under Malky, also made 42 appearances for City, but after going out on loan was never the same.

Had 8 clubs since and has ended up at Salford City.

Mark Harris failed for us badly as a Striker in 6 years , 9 goals in 86 appearances.
Went out on loan and was awful at Newport, Wrexham and Port Vale.

Then bang settled down at League 1 Oxford and has done great, great start this season, long may it continue

Great comments Annis, my other worry about our Academy is we let the wrong players go! Tom Lockyer,Luton,Hughes Preston,Burns Ipswich,Cabango Jacks we’re all let go,and we even had Jarrod Bowen West Ham on trial but again was considered not good enough! Who makes these decisions? We have also lost too many Academy players recently to clubs as we haven’t a Category 1 Academy which doesn’t make sense!
