Buluts most important game

Sat Aug 24, 2024 10:14 am

This will be Buluts most important game of his tenure so far in my opinion

Last year we started well and finished in a decent league position but a lot of people rightly questioned the terrible football.

He doesn't have many fans left.

This season, we haven't started well, are bottom of the table and u goals conceded.

Its only 2 games into the season, so plenty of time to go, but being in the position we are in, means that the game against the scum is even more important than it would have been.

Not just because it's the jacks, but because we seriously need to change things around quickly.

We are the better team on paper. Bulut has said it doesn't matter how we win, as long as we win.

If we lose tomorrow, with no fight, no passion and no determination, then I feel Bulut will lose the rest of the support that he has left.

I've defended Bulut, but if we go down without a fight tomorrow, that will be it.

So he should be sacked on Sunday if we lose?

I think your right Roath_Blue, it's a massive game for Bulut.

I don't think it's a must win, I'd take a draw and I'd even accept a loss...just so long as we showed some heart, passion, and some desire and determination to go out and try and win the game.

If we fanny about with it at the back, barely get a shot on goal and roll over like we did last season, he'll lose all of us after just 3 games into the season.

Please tell me where I said that?

I said he will lose a lit of the people who are still defending him.

I agree with the opening post.

Last seasons turgid football was forgiven on the basis that we were still under an embargo for half the season, and secondly we were never flirting with the drop as we did the previous year.
Added to that and a top 12 finish and on that basis in the main it was difficult not to agree that Bulut merited a new contract.

If we were to lose the derby there is always an increased clamour for heads to roll, and 3 games and 3 defeats would probably mean that Middlesborough on the following Saturday would be a must win for him.

Hopefully it doesn't come to that and we turn up tomorrow and come away with a minimum of a point. :bluescarf:

Lose Sunday the atmosphere at home to Middlesbrough won’t be nice at all

He honestly can’t afford to lose on Sunday

So yes I would agree it’s his most important game he’s had so far.

Should have already been sacked, turgid negative dross every bloody week.

Those who are ‘against’ Erol Bulut won’t have their minds changed regardless of the result!

Usually, it’s specific players who get the (often unwarranted) ire of certain supporters but this last season or so, it appears Erol Bulut is that ‘target’

The ‘style’ of football last season wasn’t great, but he got us to a very comfortable 12th with a ‘pieced together’ squad after a couple of seasons where we dallied way too closely with relegation; so it must be deemed as a ‘successful’ season

Things, including expectations, have changed this season with several changes to the squad and backroom, so this must now be considered ‘his’ team and he will be rightly judged on both performances and results

So far, performances have been ‘developing’ but results have been disappointing to say the least

Sunday’s game is important for a lot of reasons and should the result go against us, there will inevitably be a ramping up of the vitriol towards him with another very tough game to come versus Middlesbrough next Saturday

Personally, I think he will turn it around with players coming in and players coming back over the next few games; but the pressure is already on the manager and his staff to turn the tide; and what better opportunity to start the season going than with a win (or draw a worse) against the Cabbage Patch Dolls…? :ayatollah:

I think it's the capitulation in our games at the back end of last season and the opening games of this season that has fans twitchy and fearing the worst. If nothing else he has to get the players 'up for it' big time. You can forgive the team for many things but lack of fighting spirit you can't.

Probably is his most important game. We’ve lost 4 league games back to back and if it were to be a 5th tomorrow, it runs close to previous scenarios where the managers head was called for by fans.

I’m not a lover of his style of play, the very slow build up, a porous midfield and lone striker. I truly hope he turns things around and changes the appearance of this ultra slow build up rep he has. In general, he seems to have made decent signings this window. And I’d say we have a decent squad. But we still don’t appear to have a target centre forward yet. Kanga May turn out to be that.
If he changes style and shows a more attacking approach I’d appreciate it. But I’m not confident it’s in him.

Anyway, fingers crossed for tomorrow and we get at least a point. Show some shape and aggression, not get psyched out of the game early doors.

Their fans will be expecting a rout and the longer we frustrate them or pinch a lead the better for us as they’ll get on their backs.

Agreed

Any repeat of last years performance at the Girodome and he has to be put out of his misery , or rather us! His interview the other day, he looked under pressure , tired, disagreeable, worried, says it all, hope that doesn’t vibe into the dressing room. This is a poor manager, stubborn, one dimensional , predictable. The worst kind. I’ll be well happy with a draw, a win and I’m bouncing. It will need a lot more to convert me . Fight!!!!!! Desire!!!!!!!push on!!!!!

Sorry but I would take a 0-0 draw and I feel that is what Bulut will play for.

One positive against Burnley is we ahowed we can create changes through the middle. I think we will play a defensive game but looking for those passes we produced at Burnley. If we can frustrate the Jacks we might just pull a surprise off but overall I'll take the 0-0.

Nah, he'll be alright with his blue and white army. Support is for life, not just 2 games. :bluescarf:

If Bulut plays for a 0-0, which on the evidence of quite a few matches to date, I think is a result he likes, then we will lose again!

The best form of defence is attack. A cliche I know, but I'd love to see us get stuck in and dish out some shit-housery too.

Sadly though, I'm expecting the manager to stick rigidly to the safety blanket approach that has pissed off so many supporters in his tenure.

I’m afraid that is what will happen and we’ll lose without putting up any fight

The Jacks game is playing your joker in its a knockout (for the over 50's), its double emotion time.

Win and all is sorted, he gets a free pass
Draw and we'll be happy.
Lose and the goodwill evaporates, quickly!

I was away for the first two games so haven't seen this season's team, still unsure if Turkish football can translate into the championship.

Spoke with a Turkish, Galatasary supporter today. Asked him if the slow build up, careful play is typical for their league. He admitted he was biased but said it’s the typical approach for most teams there.

Totally agreee this is his most important game so far ,
And I believe it is going to be a 0-0 result but hopefully a very good f*cking day and a win .
If we lose but put up a fight then I will still back bulut , at least for 2 months more to see how things improve with the new players
And a loan striker is a absolute must

He needs at least a point and go on a run. We cannot be near the bottom of table. If the players have faith him they will perform.

Get that young Black striker lad reindorf in there playing without fear

All that matters is the win, that’s what he needs.

Performance unimportant if he wins.

Yep - throw him in there and put Kanga alongside him. Sorry Erol, that means two strikers mate!

Yes he should .
WAs surprised he wasn’t on the bench last game , but as we all are beginning to realise , bulut doesn’t trust the young ones

Just the sort of player we need in this game no fear bit as you say bulut will go defensive 1 striker upfront lost on his own and if the swans score 1st that could be the end of cardiff will go to pieces instead of a fight
