Ramsey and Colwill

Sun Aug 25, 2024 5:58 pm

Got to be Ramsey playing deeper now with Colwill ahead of him. Then Ralls/ Siopis/ Robertson for the other midfield berth.

Colwill has got to come good now. Always brings the best out of Tanner too

Understand what you’re saying g but I bet if RC starts on Saturday he’ll be awful.

Can’t agree with Colwill starting.

He needs to play as the forward behind the striker for a decent number of games and with Rambo behind him that should help him.

At least it gives him all the help he can have to finally become consistently good.

Such a talent, desperate to see him fulfill it

Who would you start instead of him, because he's the only CAM in our squad who puts us on the front foot!!

He's a young player so give him a run of games and then make a judgement.

Look where Sunderland finished last year but now look at them. You've got to give youth time and confidence.

Youngest team in the League.

We were the oldest and bottom of the league.

Robinson infront of him Rambo and Chambers behind with Fish and Daland at CB starts to look more solid

I just think some players are better off the bench than starting and I think that’s tanner and colwill are them players

Things have improved second half please don’t ruin it by playing colwell who been given loads of chances but simply isn’t good enough.

Agree at the moment that’s the case.

But if we want them to improve we’ve got to give the best platform to be able to influence the game from the start.

Playing Colwill on the wing and Tanner at full back isn’t a good platform.

Give them time and help and fingers crossed they’ll make it

Hard to argue with that. They both have looked good off the bench, today and against Bristol. A good partnership against tiring sides.

I must have missed the times when Colwill has been given a run of starting games!!

If this is going to be his break through season then he has to play.

He's shown more in his performance today then the rest of our CM put together.

Problem with our fan base we expect full rounded players and then we're shocked when they leave us and look better than we remember.

How many fans said Harris wasn't good enough. Nothing but a league 1 striker etc.

3 in 3 games for a relegation team like Oxford.

What game were you watching? Colwill had a huge influence on our improvement second half.

Siopis, however is a headless chicken.

he normally comes on as a sub when we need to go forward and loosen the defensive stranglehold as we are losing.

When he starts he must adhere to the super defensive system this manager installs at the start of the game. He is too undisciplined for this. He is a risk taker, and when we go for the equalizer its allowed, but only then!

The manager’s mind set is the problem. We need to be bold if we hope to make an impression in this league.

Relegation team? What you basing that on?

Oxford have scored 5 in 3 games. Had many more shots on and off target than Cardiff. Two best players out injured Saturday and their squad coped and they should have got a point against a decent Blackburn side.

Meanwhile Cardiff are at the bottom of the league with one goal creating very little.

Siopis has to be dropped he has been dreadful. Ralls was missed in midfield today.....I would on form have ralls, colwill and Robertson

A great point; and whilst I am a fan of Rubin, I think Ramsey needs to start and will get better with more games under his belt. He’s still a class act in terms of the Championship… :ayatollah:

You're missing the point I'm making but end up supporting my argument anyway.

If you look at budget and money spent Oxford would be rock bottom but football doesn't work like that.

They have a hungry team and a good manager.

I'll highlight my arguement in case you miss it again.... Some of our fanbase do not give our young home grown players a chance and easily right them off.

Just like Harris which I remember many posts saying he'll never be good enough etc.

We expect them to be premier league quality without giving them the game time and experience to develop.

I doubt Sunderland fans we're happy about being near the bottom of the league last season but look at them now, and they've just sold one of those younger players for £17m.

When Ledley, Jerome and Collins came through we were on the back of the Sam Hamman era and had no money. My point they were then given the opportunity and time to learn and develop.

We're not a club that spends big on players so we have to look at different ways and I think we're very lucky at the moment with the talent coming through that needs to be maximised.

Ramsey is not performing. Rubin is making more happen.

I'd start Rubin and Robertson then probably Ralls.
