LRZ not making 53

Tue Aug 27, 2024 6:59 pm

For any NFL fans,
LRZ unlikely to make the 53 roster.
His no9 jersey has been taken from him and returned to
Smith Schuster who has just rejoined the Chiefs.

LRZ will be hoping he either makes the cut or placed in practice squad.

Wonder if he would return to the UK and Rugby Union if Cheifs drop him.

Jersey sales make him an assett financially.

Not sure they will be selling many too be fair Might sell maybe a few hundred in Wales and that is likely to be more than they will sell in USA

Americans don’t care about his jersey. Rugby isn’t cared about much there.

They’ll still continue to buy Mahomes or Kelce etc. in KC.

Anyway, he was never likely to make the 53, always said he will start on the practice squad. Way too much for him to learn at this moment and will take him time. Will likely have to work on his body more too for a good while.

More like hundreds actually, during the summer they will learn possibly somewhere like 200-400, but game days, depending on opponents, may trim this down to 100+ combined for both run and pass plays.

Still have to many times more to be an asset You have to remember who gets the profits from the sales of jerseys It is not the team it’s self They only get a very small %

Nowhere to be seen on the July sales top ten list in UK thou So certainly not a big seller of can’t stay in top ten 3 players for chiefs account for 85% of sales of chief jerseys LRZ even had his number taken off him Good on him having a go and not trying to knock him at all But in US buying a LRZ top is like one of our supporters buying a top with one of our U21 names on in terms of sales

Jersey sales are a drop in the ocean compared to what the squad gets in payments and bonuses even a fringe player is a multi millionaire within a year

They are Brady got around $2.5m a year from shirt sales while he was top of his game and he outsold every player by a large amount Also NFL teams can only change their jersey every 5 years So Jersey sales are not even close to what we would see in football. Fans in US just don’t buy jerseys each year it is not on their make up to do that You can go to Greenbay games and still the vast majority have Favre tops who retired many years ago

Except they still do a roaring trade in new Favre jerseys. You can still buy Bo Jackson jerseys at raiders games & even in Nike stores and he retired in 1991 so the jerseys you're seeing are most likely a mix of new & old. If someone is a team hero like Favre & Jackson were/are then the jerseys will never stop selling.

Yes you can still buy them What shocked me is that 85% goes to the manufacturer I suppose that why they pay so much for the deal which is an NFL deal which is then equally spread across the teams if i have read it correctly. Players also get a cut of the sales so clubs get little from actual sales of the jerseys.
