Official: Ryan Wintle joins Millwall on loan

Updated:

A permanent deal could not be reached .

That was what was originally on the cards.

So Wintle has joined on a loan deal.

With Millwall paying the majority of Wintle wages.

Don’t forget we had just given Wintle extra years in his contract till 2026, Their was NO way Millwall were going to take it all on,approx £13,000 a week.

They are now paying approximately £10,000 a week of it for this season.

Ryan Wintle aged 27 and played for the Bluebirds 110 times.

Wintle who was last season given a new contract was told in June by Erol Bulut to find a new club.

Wintle has and has joined Championship club Millwall.

Neil Harris is the manager of Millwall.

City have had to sort out compensation to Wintle to settle his current contract.

City lost money on Wintle, but have now been able to cut the wages.

Wintle has signed a new contract is now on a permanent contract at Millwall

Find it a bit weird we’ve had to pay off a player who I personally don’t think is that bad, and someone who has captained us many times.

Very strange, they must of had words at some point but Wintle doesn't seem like the type of player that would sulk and cause problems.

Either way, good luck to him, always worked hard for us and think he will do well there.

Something must have happened behind the scenes. Will do a good job for Millwall.

I thought he was half decent lad , strange Mick let him go on loan , great on loan and when he returned.

Robinson and Wintle seemed to be effected by the Rambo return ??

Annis you keep saying top six and top two we are nowhere near that surely even you see this with the squad we got. If we got three or four better players in id get it as we would struggle to be up there in my opinion without them. Not freebies or players who are not fit and take a month or two to get up to scratch or players hardly anyone has heard of before because usually they don't cut it and get released or given away more or less as the past has told us. Look at that kanga he's onloan thank god I've seen better on a Sunday league pitch tbh so far :bluescarf:

I can’t help feeling that something has changed behind the scenes. It’s almost a hero to zero situation and hard to fathom beyond a fall out

Confirmed now as a loan deal and Bulut comments (quote) “sometimes a manager has to rotate and I think the players have to accept that. I think there we had our issues a little bit

Was a bit of a bad apple around the changing room when he didn't play apparently.

I remember that but it was his awful free kicks and corners that the complaints were about

Pan is good if he does alright we can sell for good money like Adams

Was the go to captain when Ralls wasn't fit and always put in a shift in. This strikes me as a purely football decision. Bulut had a bigger bust up with Robbo and look how that turned out. A good player at this level but unfortunately for him we've got too many of the same type. I wish him well.

He also had words with Tanner and that had a positive effect

When he first arrived I was very impressed but I think that was more a sign of how much we’d slumped. I’m hopeful that the likes of Robertson can offer us far more.

Or he will have a very good season and either Millwall or another club will want to buy him.

Maybe but your comparing peas with apples. I'm 100% sure Robbo would get nowhere near Wintle's level as a Defensive midfielder and I'm as sure Wintle would bomb doing Robbo's job.

Re: Official: Cardiff player leaves in loan deal:

Millwall have signed Cardiff City midfielder Ryan Wintle on loan.

The 27-year-old is the eighth signing of the transfer window – or ninth if you include bringing back Shaun Hutchinson after he was initially released at the end of last season.

“We’re really pleased to welcome Ryan to the club,” Millwall’s director of football told the club website.

“His qualities and leadership both on and off the pitch only strengthens our midfield.

“He likes to get on the ball and make things happen, and having made over 100 appearances for Cardiff City – as well as at Crewe Alexandra – Ryan arrives with great experience and knows what it takes to compete at this level.

“Ryan’s character is exactly what we look for in a player and I look forward to seeing him join the squad. I wish him the very best of luck for the season ahead.”
