Alright, we’re out of the cup but nobody really expected us to win.

We were close to winning in the end.

Some very good performances.

Colwill put in his best starting performance for a long time. Brilliant goal.

Young players did well, especially Reindorf.


But I thought the standout was Robertson, absolutely brilliant second half.



Lots of positives to take from that.

3-5 doesn't even get close to telling the story of that game, very enjoyable.

Some fantastic goals from both sides tonight.. some soft decisions going Southamptons way throughout the game but overall a fantastic run out for our lads with a few getting off the mark with goals.

Think Rheindof needs to be given time in the 1sts as an option up top, he’s lively and constantly looking for the ball.

Good run out for a few of the younger players.

I dreaded the result when I saw the line up, thought it was weak in terms a starting 11, but they did themselves proud.

Some will say "it was a reserve fixture" - granted it wasn't their full strength team, but nonetheless it was a team that should have beat our kids with ease.

Robertson looks to be coming good, and Colwill showing what he can do.

Ramsey needs to be dropped next game for Colwill.

Funny how the established players in Goutas and Alnwick were probably the weak link.

Youngsters did well. Give Purse some praise. Now they need to move it up a notch and do it in the league. Seen enough from Reindorf, Conte for sure. Also Bagan, Ashford and Kpakio deserve some minutes.

Entertaining game. Shame we came out on the wrong side.

Although worth noting, although they also played some youngsters... Archer cost 15m and Fernandes 12m. Left winger 7m. Midfielder 25m (on loan from Chelsea). And a few more odd million players.

Agree on Alnwick.

Could have done better with a few of the goals and distribution not great.

Youngsters were excellent tonight.

I remember Archer scoring for Sheff United against us a few seasons ago - if only we could find a striker like him from somewhere!

It’s nice to see people saying Bagan played well again tonight, because when I said he should have started at left back against the jacks, I was told he wasn’t good enough defensively by a few on here..

Reindorf reminds me of a young Cameron Jerome, not insanely gifted but for the entire game he gave 100% and never stopped. That enthusiasm is rare in strikers as they usually want to just preserve to score goals, he chased everything and deserves a run out even if initially it’s off the bench
