Cardiff terminate contract of first team player:

Cardiff City have terminated the contract of Mahlon Romeo with immediate effect.

The right-back has not featured once for Cardiff during pre-season nor during the season proper after it was revealed the homophobic nature of his abuse towards police officers following his drink-drive arrest earlier this year.


While the club have until now kept their counsel, they said in a statement: "Cardiff City and Mahlon Romeo have agreed to terminate his contract by mutual consent to allow the player to seek other opportunities.
