A forum for all things Cardiff City

Looking at the poll on this forum about Bulut, there are still a small minority saying he should stay (22 out of 160 votes at time of writing).
Their argument is that he needs the first 10-12 games of this season.
Well we’ve played four and have one point. The next six are:
Derby (a)
Leeds (h)
Hull (a)
Millwall (h)
Bristol City (a)
Plymouth (h)
It is not inconceivable that we could lose most if not all of those - only Plymouth at home currently looks winnable with this manager.
So we could be cut adrift at the bottom after ten games.
When you’re at the bottom of the league at that stage, it’s very difficult to turn it around - even with a change of manager.
So I don’t think we can afford to wait that long.
In my view, Bulut has to go now.
The club will then have two weeks to find a suitable replacement due to the international break.

I totally agree. He's had nearly 60 games in charge and nothing changes on the pitch and we need to all now except that it's not going to change.
He has to go now to give the new manager as much time with the players as possible before our next game.

if we were talking about loads of new players and systems then fair enough, but we are not!!!
Back four, 2 DM's, 1 AMC, 2 wingers, and a lump up top. Same last season as this! Slow patient build-up, allow them to set up in a low block, lose the ball, and chase.
The question is how does he believe we are breaking the block? Its too slow, safe and predictable. Ramsey likes to hold the ball and dink little passes but he likes teammates close, there aren't any.
Rubin is a deeper passer, he needs to come and get the ball but the 2 DM's barely move.
It needs a new philosophy and Bulut can't deliver that.

Whilst probably should go know if tan is thinking of doing so must wonder what did boro boss do to turn around a worse situation after 10+ games last season? Was it a simple change of strategy that worked if so bulut says there will be changes after break will that work as well as boros did considering most complain he hasn't changed
from last season? Just a view point... and it's no good people just saying he won't change because he says going to change things. Will that work?

10/12 games??? Bulut should have been sacked yesterday afternoon…
I get the feeling, perception, that VT, MD, and KC don’t know what to do…. Like rabbits in the headlights. Clueless, and totally with lemming like behaviour. There all pathetic!

The trouble with early season fixtures is it's harder to predict as teams settle in new players. That applies to us, to some extent, although I now believe Bulut's system and selection is more the culprit for our form. Last year we had just 4 points after 5 games. We suddenly clicked. Do I think this will happen again? Sadly not this time although I think we may spring a surprise and beat Derby before normal service is resumed by losing to Leeds. Logic dictates we should have patience and we should give 2 or 3 matches but no more. Bulut should know he is now fighting for his future. Lose to Derby with a simialr performance as yesterday there should be a board meeting and vote of confidence.

Good post, great points and totally agree. He has to go . Finally!!!! But we have businessmen with politicians blab, who are running our club trying to make football decisions. They don’t have a clue. And are running our club and its fan base into the ground.

It is a problem for them, a massive problem.

Yes, done it before, and each time things went from bad to worse. Well let’s just see what happens?
I bet Darren Purse is just itching for the opportunity.

I thought he needed time.
Not 10 games per say. Time to get his team fit.
Thats no longer the case unfortunately.
He needs to go.

Bulut has carried on from the poor form from last season, 6 games, 1 draw, 5 defeats.
He's trying the same thing over and over again with hope that it works out of sheer arrogance.
He is not going to change and its going to cost him his job and Tan yet more money in paying him off.
Sun Sep 01, 2024 9:29 pm
We're stuck with him. The 3 amigos will never get rid this soon. They will leave it as late as possible (maybe even mid season) before they press the emergency panic button. We all know what they are like.
They should have kept the 2m they spent on this striker that they shipped off to Belgium and used that the pay off Bully. It would have been more beneficial to us with the way things are going.
He must be so frustrating to play for. The same instructions week in week out when it's blindly obvious they ain't working.

Here is the problem - Lessons not learned from last season about getting players in before pre season ...
The manager said he wanted to stay here as he had players linked up for this season - He got 2 in before the tour .
Last season Embargo lifted we got in players on the final 2 days and lost all games in Jan apart from QPR - New Year Day .
A Win at Watford next game up in Feb and then another 3-4 lost games -The new players needed time 3 wins in a row March.
For me the above next set of 6 games are make or break for the manager as they have had game time as a team .
Mon Sep 02, 2024 6:52 am
Go now. Does anyone believe he will turn it around? I for 1 don’t .
Mon Sep 02, 2024 10:04 am
I was quite looking forward to this season to see Bulut putting his own stamp on things. I just can't workout why we play the same players and same formations game after game when it clearly isn't working? What's happened to Siopis??Just doesn't seem to be with it this year. I don't think Bulut will get sacked after they've just given him a new contract, hopefully he changes half the team after international games and takes the handbrake off.
Mon Sep 02, 2024 1:00 pm
Five winnable games from the next batch, I'm not confident he can turn it around but we have some good players and should be beating quite a few of those.
Mon Sep 02, 2024 1:03 pm
It'll be Bulut out Purse in

I agree we should be beating these teams and as you say we have good quality players. Unfortunately it's not the players that's the problem........

I would give him the next 5 games which would take us up to the away game with Bristol City. If there are no signs of any improvement by then that will be the time to replace Bulut. We would have 13 days to get a new manager in place who's 1st 2 games will be at home to Plymouth and Portsmouth in the space of 3 days.
Mon Sep 02, 2024 2:12 pm
I always give New managers 12 games Ned.
But Bulut has had 15months in charge and finished last season worse than awful.
I do believe he deserves Derby away and Leeds home, if 2 Defeats he has to go then in my view.
Confidence in his Squad would be totally shot.

He won’t go before Derby but to be honest if it was up to me, I’d get rid of him now.

Tan won’t sack him for a while, Dalman is fully behind Bulut.
2 more matches at the most for me.

The big problem is his contract still has 2 years to go and tan will not be happy paying a manager and support staff again...
Mon Sep 02, 2024 3:51 pm
That contract took a long time to seal, there must be performance markers in there.
Mon Sep 02, 2024 5:04 pm
I saw enough at the end of last season to not renew his contract I am not shocked at all our start is so bad. 12 games and I think a lot of damage this maybe the season we go down sadly
I really hope I am wrong

I don’t him bring the right man to change things .
Tactically, seems too rigid and limited …
He says big changes for next game but will he do it?
Ramsey,Goutas ,NG and Siopis seem a poor imitation of their best form this season.
And as for Horvarth….gives me kittens every time he touches the ball…..would rather see Alnwick as we ain’t got the players to play out from the back..
Think sadly we need a new manager and I would go for Dave Challinor …at least he tries to get his teams going forward
