“We put in an offer to Cardiff and they accepted.”

"It was accepted earlier in the week, but then a couple of teams in England came in, and Cardiff thought it was beneficial to send Malachi out in England again.

"That's not a decision I particularly agree with, but maybe I'm biased, although I can see Cardiff's point of view as well. From the conversations I had with him, he was pretty keen to come back, but he is a Cardiff City player.”

"He's come on in the Championship for them this season, he's started in the Carabao Cup, so I think he's got a future there.”

“They want to loan him out now to an English club.”

YORK CITY / NON LEAGUE / FAGAN-WALCOTT AGED 22:

SO WHY HAVE WE SENT BOTH PLAYERS TO THE NON-LEAGUE ????

They should either be in our first team squad if they are good enough or got rid off, as 22 yrs old, not kids.

Reports in Scotland state Cardiff City turned down a bid for defender Malachi Fagan-Walcott from Dunfermline of the Scottish Championship ( Not Prem) on transfer deadline day.

The bid was approx £60,000, for a permanent move, he’s highly rated by Erol Bulut, but why send him to NON LEAGUE?

Fagan-Walcott spent the second half of last season on loan with the Scottish club, who tried and failed with an offer to sign the centre-back just hours before the window closed on Friday, according to The Courier.

Fagan-Walcott previously worked with boss James McPake at Dundee and the manager hoped to reunite with the 22-year-old again, but a fresh approach was rejected.

The Transfer Committee decided to send him Non League side York City on loan for the 2024/25 campaign.

Bluebirds Raheem Conte aged 22 heading to Non League Woking on loan for the season.

Erol Bulut believes one more season and Conte will be ready.

Conte and Fagan-Walcott were expected to be first team squad players this season with Cardiff in the Championship.

Are you saying we should have sold him to them for the 60k ?

I get that he should have stayed with us & been included in the squad.

My view both put in our squad till Xmas, as for me they will never ever make it after going that many leagues down.
No one ever has in the last 14 years for us, a fact.
We never learn.

I am still fuming about Joel Colwill in a Div 4 (league 2) Struggling team.
Will not make him a better player.

I'm presuming the 60k was for a perm transfer?

If so, I wouldn't have taken it.

So this means that Dunfermline value him at £60k. They would know because they have had him around their squad a lot.

Will his value go up by playing in the fifth tier? I think it’s more likely to go down.

Don’t think he was ever good enough which is why he’s gone all the way down to that level so I would have taken the money.

Mark Harris was released by Cardiff (or left) at age 23 and written off by many.

After a season of scoring in league one he was again written off by many as won’t do it in the championship.

While granted it’s a small sample size, he is looking very much a championship striker and would certainly be in our team at the moment.

22 is not an age to write players off.

Such is the way for many of our ex players, especially anyone who remotely identifies as a striker.

Bulut knows he isn't lasting 2 years, so it's short term Dad's army stuff to get him through. Warnock never trusted kids but had a lot of form in the bank.

The thing is if we did go kids heavy Bulut would get a lot more time.

Both players need to rip up their league if they are half as good as some of you believe. Fagin-Walcot proved he can play Scottish championship which is probably bottom L1/ top 2, and Conte hasn't proven anything. I guess that the "footballing" department may believe that Goutas may leave at the end of the season and we have his replacement.

And we accepted Ned, and he wanted to go there.

Our Transfer Committee have not got a clue.

Accepting 60k is an embarrassment, if we rate him that lowly why are we sending him out on loan as we clearly don't think he will make it, our hierarchy is making me love football less and less every day
