Totally disagree…Colwill will play 40 games for Cheltenham this season…would be lucky to play 5 games for us

Joel will come back a better player and will push for a starting place in our line up next year

I don’t agree with much our club does with our youngsters but this I believe is a good decision

He is being brought down to League Two standard so he will come back worse.

League One I could understand but not an average League Two team like Cheltenham.

I know Cheltenham fans and they won’t even be fighting for promotion.

So your saying that it’s a good move for him in a good side?

Well if your right Joel will be the first in 14 yrs to come back and make it for us.

I believe he should be with a league one side like Brum etc at the least .

Ned,

That’s exactly what’s been happening for 14 yrs, but still some don’t want to see the truth and sad facts.

Joel Collwill is way way above Cheltenham standard.

We are sending players to the Non league

All Madness

So is the answer to just leave them sit on our bench or just play with the kids for the season? I can’t understand your point, yes we may think they are good enough for the leagues higher than they are but they may not have had any offers. And if they did have offers did they include regular starting position?
Surely playing regular mens football is a lot beneficial to a younger player than sitting in the bench or playing u21’s football? It didn’t do players like Harry Kane and David Beckham any harm when they were youngsters. They dropped down leagues to get game time, and numerous others for that matter and it certainly assisted their development hugely.

Think it’s a good move to loan him out, scored three goals so far but,his rating haven’t been that impressive so far, give him 10 games to find his feet and might see his averages rise,if he’s good enough as some are saying,he should be a stand out player at this level, good luck to him

What will Joel come back more tougher, gain more quality, learn more from a team that will probably be bottom 5 of League2?
Maybe because it’s closer to keep an eye on him?

Not one City player in 15 yrs has yet to come back and make it for us after sending them to club like this and even lower.

Joel is one of our best players

He’s not a kid, he’s 20 yrs old next month.

He should be in our first team squad.

As have proven to you, time and time again.

They have never made it.

He’s good enough to play, so the older ones are doing well are they??

He could be coming on as great Sub.

If it was a good League one club yes.

Are you serious your comparing Beckham and Kane

Please tell me our players that have come through our Academy to make it with us after loaning out to lower clubs in the last 14 years?

Name 2 ?

PLEASE?

He ll definitely return tougher, definitely more experienced in game situations, hopefully having played 40 odd games, rather than being in the under 21s and being the occasionally used sub at Cardiff, like I said if he s good enough as you say,he should be turning out man of the match performances constantly this season

Earnshaw was loaned to Morton in Scotland played regular came back stronger and better for it .If Colwill plays the Majority of Cheltenham games in Div 2 then he will improve because he’s playing meaningful games in a tough environment which he needs .If he was able to secure a Div 1 team loan then possibly he wouldn’t get as much game time .I believe we have a good prospect in Joel having seen him shine in Whitts testimonial against Villa .I think he should be in our first team squad now but I would rather him play than be ignored by Bulut :old: :bluescarf:

He is quality and is better than I am describing.

Joel needed a loan out for sure. He isn't a championship starter for us just now and would likely have had a few minutes off bench every now and then. I do think league 1 would have been better and perhaps a loan to Jan with a review to either bring back to us for remainder of season or loan to league 1 if he rips up league 2
